All of these new 'revelations' like prophecies or talking in tongues which were revelations is adding to the Bible and is warned against in the Bible. You believe in this to your peril
The Holy Spirit has guided men to translate the scriptures into most of the languages of the world so that the Gospel can be taken to all. There is no further need of these gifts after the Apostles, all of these tongues are just nonsense spoken. You read Acts and you see what was the purpose of tongues. This is repeated in 1 Corinthians.
But you can see by Philippians 2:25-30 that the gift of healing had already ceased and this was repeated in 1 Tim5:23 and 2 Tim 4:20
Satan attempts to counterfeit the Holy Spirits actions and all of these false prophecies are ways to appeal to weak human flesh and the human need for entertainment and sensation. If you believe in God's Word and that it is true, then all of these false prophecies you will see are counterfeits of what the Holy Spirit does.
If you believe in these false prophecies you will also believe a person can lose his salvation, like in this article where Christians end up in hell because they did not do good works, but scripture tells us that our works do not save and we are saved by faith alone. These are false teachings in this article and this Bernada is a false prophet.
Quix, I remember seeing you in the Free-Will/ No-Free-Will wars. Am I mistaken, or didn't you usually lean toward the Calvinists? Are you going soft now?
Some would say we are saved by Predestination alone. Not me, though....
GROSS NONSENSE.
Not Biblically consistent.
Not Logically consistent.
UNMITIGATED NONSENSE.
No one’s ENSCRIPTURATING such narratives.
Haven’t changed a bit.
I affirm the Calvinists when I can.
I try to affirm anyone when I can.
I have read many Protestant and Catholic vision stories. I have never read one that I can remember a Protestant vision sound so Catholic. Let me explain no other vision story except Catholic describes visions of the actions of the Gospel like being there as it happens. Especially like the stations of the cross. Also Old Testament saints or heroes. No! I can not remember one. This does.
The seers are children like Catholic vision stories. I will definitely will study this one.
Truly astounding!
Thank you for posting it in reply comments!
Thy Kingdom come!!! Thy will be Done!!!
Praise Jesus!!! AMEN! AMEN!
It is certainly one of the classics and obviously birthed of Holy Spirit, imho.
Thx for your kind words.
Sometimes you really amaze me. This one is a true gem. I want to read more of this church. What else you have on this Church? Please share!! How do you know the people who knew some involved.
That's about as diplomatic as it gets, Quix. If you ever get banned, you can always come back as "Slix"! LOL.
Almost bedtime here. Take care, FRiend, and I hope to see you again soon!
YES!!!! That's funny.
Whatever. I say lets quote scripture at each other. Who gives what truths some troupe of kooky monks dreamed up 700 years ago? On the other hand, I remember now some Calvinists who love cutting and pasting enormous screeds of non-scriptural texts as well.
Yes. it does kind of cut into the credibility of complaining about appealing to tradition if you turn around and do the same thing.
So whats wrong with citing just the Bible anyway? Good grief.
Gee, what are you doing on the RF making sense like that?
I see there is a free biography of H. A. Baker online. I will read this one. thanks
Baker’s grandchildren http://www.irismin.org/about
That was 40 years ago when I was first in Taipei in the Navy and ran around with/knew some very old timer missionaries who’d been on the Mainland in that time period. I don’t remember our discussions about such, much.
Just that such narratives were quite real, accurate.
I knew James Vigna—Assembly of God missionary who was one of the last to make it out of Mainland China in the early 1950’s. He and his wife were quite old when I met them.
And I knew some of the Baptist missionaries, sons of Mainland China missionaries of an earlier era.
And, I taught & lived next to—in Mainland China with a MaryKnoll Sister who was in Mainland China before they were kicked out by the Beijing Marxist government—sometime before James Vigna left.
And, I knew someone who was a missionary in the same city as Watchman Nee and knew him.
PRECIOUS PRECIOUS FOLKS—HIGHLY ADMIRABLE. Loved God enormously . . . and the Chinese people about as enormously—as did and do I.
Sorry I don’t have any more details to share.
Right.
What was it 5,000 churches they were responsible for starting in Mozambique? Incredible.
Wow! “knew watchman nee” I read his books. Also my mother gave to the Maryknoll sister’s causes.
The Dear Mary Knoll Sister was precious to live next to and eat with. And, she had a lot of insight into the culture.
That sense is not unique to me. It's common sense -- the common sense that God gave all of us, just as He gave us His written Word.
And His written Word is *all* that we need. It's frustrating when, knowing that all we need to know is in the Bible, people come back at you and say you are ignorant if you've never read Marbodius of Rennes or memorized all the canons of the Second Council of the Lateran, and then proceed to cut and paste endless pages of text from non-Biblical screeds.
I don't care what some friars or monks decided to say six or seven hundred years ago. What is God saying *today* in His everlasting Word?
I'm just a simpleton, I guess.
We would get pictures of Christ as an asian by children. Orphan kids. Great artistic talent.
I think I saw a calendar illustrated with such . . . and maybe a Stations of The Cross.
