Thanks for sharing that. Amazing!
imho, to say that
THAT
makes no sense
is to PRESUME to have Christ’s omniscient perspective on all that.
I don’t have time to get into all this tonight . . . by and by.
INDEED.
This "vision-message" won't sit well with the Calvinists.
I know.
However, I’ve never observed God to be all that concerned about trying to match
THE WAY HE RUNS THINGS to folks pretended tidy little boxed notions
about how HE runs things . . .
be that RC’s, Calvinists, or whatever . . .
GOD DOES VERY WELL AT BEING GOD . . . and expecting those who truly Love Him to catch up sooner or later
—IF—
THEY ARE TRULY PUTTING
*HIM* FIRST
VS THEIR NOTIONS *ABOUT* HIM.
Even so, anyone who subscribes to Calvinism will simply recoil at that “message.” It undermines the very foundation of Calvinist doctrine. This “vision” and Calvinism are fundamentally incompatible.
Perhaps mostly.
However, I think it depends on the degree and type of Calvinism.
Scripture is BOTH/AND
in terms of predesitnation vs free will.
Folks who have a psychodynamic/emotional incapacity to handle that kind of tension
INSIST on shoving God and theology into a ONE OR THE OTHER “TIDY LITTLE BOX.”
Scripture does NOT do that. God has HIS REASONS for The Bible maintaining that tension between the two. We may be troubled by such a tension and frustrated, troubled and annoyed by it. But that’s our problem, NOT God’s.
Thank you so much for sharing that excerpt!
Well, you and I (hopefully) don’t shove God into that tidy little box. But as a bloodied veteran of some of those infamous Calvinism/Arminianism/No-Free-Will/Free-Will debates, I can say that we are in a minority, and that most of the Calvinists I’ve interacted with on FR would be simply horrified by Jesus saying, “I did not prepare [Hell] for men.”
I have my own reasons for doubting the veracity of this prophetic vision. But there is no getting around that fact that, if it were true, then Jesus’ statement that He did not prepare the Lake of Fire for men would be a total refutation of the kind of predestination held by Calvinists.
I would be interested to hear from some of the more hard-core Calvinists. On the other hand, I’m not sure I’m up for another one of those endless Free-Will/No-Free-Will debates. It’s already been a long week....
imho, Scripture makes it clear . . .
SCRIPTURE SAYS that hell was prepared for
THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS.
However, it’s also clear, that humans determined to share satan’s values and priorities will also be choosing to keep him company eternally.
In a sense it is . . . a kindness . . . evil in the presence of ALMIGHTY GOD would be even more excuciating.
THANKS FOR YOUR KIND WORDS.
I grew weary of those debates fast. The rigidities are soooo entrenched . . . it’s almost like exchanges with the rabid clique type RC’s.
LOL. Well, my only encounters have been with Calvinists. Can’t remember getting into it with an RC. Are RCs the ones who always paste pages and pages of quotes from ancient councils (e.g., “as was pronounced definitively by the High Holy Council of Maastricht in 1392..., etc.”)?
Whatever. I say let’s quote scripture at each other. Who gives what truths some troupe of kooky monks dreamed up 700 years ago?
On the other hand, I remember now some Calvinists who love cutting and pasting enormous screeds of non-scriptural texts as well.
So what’s wrong with citing just the Bible anyway? Good grief.
Quix! I just read most of this Chinese visions truly an amazing vision story.
STRONGLY AGREE WITH YOU.
YES IT IS.
I read it in 1970 in Taiwan in the U.S. Navy. I want to read it again when I can get to it.
I have known folks who were friends of Baker.
Yes, these are fiction at best or satanic fantasies at worse.
I can think of no logical way to arrive at such a conclusion.
Rigid narrow unBiblical bias is a poor way to arrive at truth.
Yes, Quix you are being misled by these false prophecies. Backsliding into sin is a sign that the person was never saved in the first place, she was never elect.
Awesome post, Jmouse007.
And this post was every bit as awesome as your 277 post.
