OK. On Sept. 17 or so, I posted the comment to you which is copied and pasted below. The Strom character has some divisive viewpoints, it does have some “in group out group” dynamic to it.

How some folks can make the comments they make and avoid blaspheming the Holy Spirit is not clear.

I am tired. Dog tired.

I say, Holy Ghost, defend Your place in our midst and purge from us all idolatry and deception, through and through, I ask You in the Holy Name above all names, Jesus Christ of Nazareth Who came in the flesh, amen.

= = =
Quix, you are my great FRiend, thanks for this ... the Strom person could be seen as divisive for some of his stands, and exactly who’s “in” and who’s “out” with this vision is not real clear to me; however, it’s a compelling illustration that brings to mind the parable of the ten handmaidens, five of whom had enough oil to keep their flames lit till the Bridegroom arrived.

The scary part is that no matter which camp we believers pitch our tent in, we think WE are the handmaidens with plenty of oil and that the other camps are the ones who will be caught snoozing and running out of oil.

May God help all of us to find our way.

Brokeness, humility, peaceable waiting on the Lord for His Guidance are good beginnings.

I think Andrew gets overly strident at times.

Most of the time, I think he makes some good points.

Christ Himself came to divide with a sword according to His own words.

I think it was an Os Hillman quote from a couple days ago that a friend faithfully forwards to me, ahem, where I read,

‘do not trust a Christian leader who does not walk with a limp’ ...

and the Lord does chasten those He loves, you know it. Firsthand.

On my last five minutes on the ‘Net till 11pm, will say this, quickly, a cliché to sum it up, to all those who critique Charismatics, Pentecostals, Full Gospel believers, those who seek the Holy Spirit and are open to Him, when you critique, yep, you’ll find objectionable stuff, however,

‘DON’T THROW THE BABY OUT WITH THE BATH WATER.’

Later.
