lds use that same words but they mean completely different things. Beck as all lds is working for godhood, which is something they teach.

It would be easy to make too big a deal out of this whole thing. Beck has always sounded like more of a real Christian than a Mormon to me. Fact is, he may know little or nothing about Mormon doctrine.

Evangelical Scholar Troubled by Theological Ambiguity at Beck Rally (Many Christians Seem Confused)

Before I read through the thread, I predict, 95% of posters don't get, that if you make it about God, you have to have the God part right.

Beck has said over and over again that it’s time to get back to a God centered nation, whatever that God means to you. He has said that we (WE as in NOT HE) need to decide what church is right for us.

Does anyone, in there right mind, disagree that we as a people need to get back to the set of principles that was a foundation of this nation that brought it to be the great nation it is today?

Did Beck say we needed to all be one religion? NO
Did Beck say we need to all belong to the same church? NO
Did Beck say we all needed to follow the same theology? NO
Were the founding fathers of this nation all of the same theological background? NO

Was this nation built on a diversity of theology but still together on a Judeo Christian set of guiding principles? YES

Will this nation last if we divide on Theology. NO,NO,NO it won’t.

Sounds like those who are confused are just the attention seekers who wanted to turn it into a tent revial for religion.

The halls of congress have the brumidi fresco showing George Washington doing a masonic stone laying ceremony for the capitol building. do we condem that? g.washington?

It is about “faith” not about televagalist-send-in-your-money-to-be-saved religion.

I didn’t get the impression that it was about the Christian (true) God or the Mormon faith or anyone but “whatever your beliefe system, if it is good and loving and helpful, then practice it like you mean it.”

This was not a “Christians only” event.

This is the problem with Evangelicalism. It is theologically and doctrinally squashy. It is based almost totally on enthusiasm and emotionalism with a little law thrown in for good measure. There is no there, there. For a Christian religious leader to declare that Beck believed in the same Jesus or the same gospel as Christianity is shockingly false. It only goes to show how theologically shallow these Evangelical religious leaders are. If someone wants to say that he shares Beck's political ideology, I have no problem with that; however, to try and make Beck sound Christian is something the Anti-Christ would do.
