This just isn't true. I just got a private email from someone following this thread who clearly hates and wants to attack homosexuals, and thinks we should all call them 'queer perverts' instead of gay, because he doesn't want them to feel comfortable. This is exactly what I'm talking about.
There were a number of "Christian" people who opposed the Civil Rights movement because it was going to change the Fiber of our Country. I think we can all agree, they were proven wrong. Our founders set up a governmental system that works against mob rule and theological tyranny. The system is working, as you pointed out. Voters reject gay marriage. It is an issue that Constitutionally should be left to the states. If a gay person really wants to be married as a gay person, and a state votes to allow recognition of such a union, then that gay person should live in that state. If you live in that state, and it has been legally, constitutionally and democratically approved, then you are free to move to a state where it is not approved. Our greatest risk now is a Supreme Court denying states the right to make such determinations. This is what makes our political activism at the federal level more important than ever. To elect only conservative thinking politicians and presidents.
And you still have not addressed my Constitutional arguments. Where in the constitution does it say that we are all to be treated equally, except for gay people?
I am not arguing with your point about their sinful behavior. Clearly the Bible teaches against it. My argument with you is that we are not just a Moral society, but we are a nation of laws. These laws protect all. It grants murderers, rapists and thieves due process. It protects blacks and women from sub-human status. And, like it or not, it protects gays from discrimination. As Christians, we have an obligation to treat everyone as Christ would have treated them, and that means to love them. In spite of their behavior. Love the sinner, hate the sin.
I for one and know many other Christians who do not hate homosexuals, in fact I know some that I truly like, that is not the *issue*
Homosexuals have the same rights as anyone else.
1. They can Marry
2. They can work where they want
3. They can go where they want.
4. They can do what they want within the law
They are *NOT* classified as a Race, Creed nor Religion.
They are people engaged in a certain ab-normal and immoral behaviour.
No different than someone who is commiting *Adultery*
or Beastiality or incest...All *immoral Acts*
Look at all these politicians that have been caught in the act of Adultery? I have heard people say..*Ya know Monogamy just does not work, we need to accept the fact that human beings were not made to be monogamous....Without GOD that is proably very true.....
It is *Faith* in GOD a commitment to him and his guidelines that keeps us in *Order* without *Order* is Chaos.
Chaos is:
1. Homosexuality
2. Adultery
3. Abortion
4. Sexual fornication
5. Incest
6. Beastiality
The *Song of Solomon* is a complete chapter about the romantic sexual love of Male/Female unions. It is created special and unique.
How much more as a moral society are we suppose to endure from the Radicalism of the Homosexual Agenda?
OR..
Do we lay down our morality and give in?
No, you stop judging and condemning people and show love instead of criticism. Maybe pray for them. Maybe ask God for intervention.
I agree, that when any agenda crosses a line and begins to try to insist that everyone agree with their way of thinking, that they should be stopped, particularly if it is a religious issue. Otherwise, get ready for Sharia law. Most consider homosexuality a religious issue. We cannot legislate our beliefs onto others, as much as we might know that God's way is the right way. The gay agenda should not be legislated upon us either. We should be diligent that it never crosses that line. Again, this is done through the political system. By voting for conservative representatives at the local, state and national level.
But prophetic Scripture is pretty clear that this sort of moral decay was to be expected, even prophesied for the end times. It doesn't seem likely that our puny efforts will be able to stop the moral decline. All is happening as it was prophesied. God is in control. He has given us explicit instructions. We would be wise to follow them.
