Fundamentalist.

They are the ones that actually practice D&C 132 (polygamy)

But time is never wasted witnessing to those IN cults.

I am grateful for those Christians who didn’t think witnessing to me was a waste of time when I was LDS.

Of course Nancy liked her spiritual guide sooooo.... Does make me go hummmm though. Wonder who recommended to Reagan having the choir there.....he wasn't real swift about his choices for entertainment I understand...and Nancy not much better. Come to think of it I do believe there was controversy about the whitehouse having the choir there...hummm...may have to look at this closer.

I'd be interested in knowing who the mormons were he “surrounded” himself with and if they were his personal friends??.....because I know he surrounded himself with others who were of other faiths who were his personal friends.

Ronald Reagan truly admired the Latter-day Saints. His administration included more members of the Church than any other American president, ever.

Three of us, David Fischer, Gregory Newell and I, served on his personal White House staff. Richard Wirthlin was his chief strategist.

Ted Bell served as Secretary of Education, Angela Buchanan was Treasurer, Rex Lee was Solicitor General. His White House included Roger Porter, Brent Scowcroft, Richard Beal, Blake Parish, Jon Huntsman Jr., Dodie Borup and Rocky Kuonen, and there were many other Latter-day Saints throughout his Administration.

President Thomas S. Monson served on a Presidential Commission on Volunteerism. Others were ambassadors.

LDS senators and representatives were held in special regard, and the Tabernacle Choir was his special inaugural guest.” -Stephen M. Studdert, Special Assistant to President Reagan

That's quite a story SZonian....

Congratulations for having eyes to see before you went too deep to get out on your own. Six or seven years is quite awhile under their teachings but as I stated in another post...the mormon indoctrination process/steps are done incrementally for a reason..... Same as with Freemasonry and others like these....you are really only a cash cow at the lower levels... and they give you enough titles or rewards of achievement, along with the rituals to make you feel “special” along the way.... but it is about keeping their coffers full.....actually those in the higher levels often enjoy making fun of those climbing their way up...they see them as far less than a “true” believer because the “real secrets” are only for the high achievers.....and they make certain you know those are there for the having....like putting a carrot out there for you to jump for.....it's all part of keeping you engaged and the money flow going. Additionally the time needed to ‘reconstruct’ your thinking via their teachings in order to prepare you mind for the “darker side” teachings ahead of you....(entrapment time). What you referenced as “meat.”

You mentioned a very important and critical moment when it was stated to you to.......”start reading to comprehend the message, not to find offense.”........

.....Comprehension requires critical thinking, not emotional reaction, in order to rightly discern good from evil..... Otherwise you'll be tossed about with every wind of doctrine, like a ship in a storm..... So this was a defining moment for you.... and you choose to be teachable with what God was trying to reach you with. He knows those who are seeking ‘His truth’....and the time that they will truly desire and seek it..so when the student is ready for His truth God provides the teacher.....sounds like after escaping the stronghold on your soul you are heading in the right direction. That is an encouragement to me and I thank you.

I beg your pardon....

I clearly am asking for a link to see the full article/website where this is located, which is not an unusual request on FR.

I can appreciate your sensitivities however whatever articles are presented on FR are generally open for discussion as well as confirming the source is reliable if one chooses to do so.

I did give it to you

BTW Reagan did call Mormon Tabernacle Choir “America’s Choir”

Here is a question by one of you anti’s

How come Christians aren’t alarmed when Mormon sings at nations capital during Xmas?

The mormon church now regularly sings during Xmas at the nation’s capital. Almost making themselves out to be just another branch of Christianity.

I am wondering how come Christians don’t seem to be alarmed by this?

Called “America’s Choir” by U.S. President Ronald Reagan, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is made up of 360 men and women, all members of the LDS Church in good standing.

Perhaps this will clarify Ronald Reagans Religion with link provided for your convienance.

Ronald Reagan identified himself as a Presbyterian during most of his adult life.
Reagan’s father was a nominal Catholic. Reagan’s mother was a devout member of the Disciples of Christ and Ronald Reagan was raised in the denomination. Reagan attended Eureka College, which is affiliated with that denomination. Reagan himself was a Presbyterian as an adult. Reagan said that in temperment and religious beliefs he took after his mother. (Source: http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/willricci/reagan/)

From: “Ronald Reagan Facts” page on the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Library website (http://www.reaganfoundation.org/programs/lc/reagan_facts.asp):

Although raised in his mother’s Disciples of Christ denomination, beginning in 1963 Reagan generally attended Presbyterian church services at Bel-Air Presbyterian Church, Bel-Air, California. He became an official member of Bel-Air Presbyterian after leaving the Presidency. In addition, Reagan stated that he considered himself a “born-again Christian.”

Thank you very much....trusting you found some valuable information suited to your liking,.... though generally speaking my posts are not intended to bring people trapped in a cult warm fuzzy feelings, for often times it is that very thing which is their undoing. I’d prefer to address their minds over their emotions, and facts over fiction.

Thank you for taking the time to read my posts....I appreciate others as well.

Oh yes indeed....Dubya always had a flair for making all the guests to the WhiteHouse comfortable and well received including foreighn dignitaries.....unfortunately the Pres. we now have lacks those basic skills.

Oh my mistake then... I thought I was being helpful in reminding people where his Church affiliation was and that He believed himself to be Born again...which many were pleased to hear as I am sure you were.

Thank goodness in my wanting to know what someone is about I don’t go to the oppositon!

I guess if one wants to buy a Ford they should go to Honda or if one wants to buy a Dell they should go to Gateway!

If someone want to learn about Ronald Reagan they should consult with Nancy Polosi or if one want to know what Clarence Thomas is like to consult with Aita Hill!
