An accusation of "revisionism" is pretty funny coming from a Protestant, since Protestantism is all about revisionism.

Excellent point.

The book wasn't published by "Rome". It sounds like you are into conspiracy theories.

The eeeevil Romans are coming for the women and children; look, there they are...

"Does not mean we should not have them."

The anti-Catholics continually try to win the argument by controlling the language. Don't let them get away with calling Church art "Idolatry". A "graven image" is one that itself has some magical powers. It does not mean iconic images of Christ, Mary and the saints intended to help concentrate ones mind and prayer on what the image represents.

No, I mean He submitted Himself to that before the Incarnation.

As an eight-day-old baby?

That was the question. Was it you who said Christ's blood shed during His circumcision was salvic?

Do you guys ever read whole sentences and paragraphs, hopefully in context?

The Bible clearly states that we are not to make "graven images" and "bow down and serve them."

Get it?

Art work is fine.

Kneeling before, bowing down to, venerating and praying to artwork is idolatry.

Read the Bible.

"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me" -- Exodus 20:4-5

Read the words. God says those who make graven images and bow down and serve them "hate" God.

" Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.

They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:

They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:

They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.

They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them." -- Psalm 115:4-8

His whole life was salvific, but most especially, His Passion, Death, and Resurrection, as I said before.

The infant Jesus' blood shed during His circumcision did not save anyone. His blood shed on the cross saved His sheep

The RCC practices a loony superstition which only confuses the Gospel message.

Repent.

Nowhere in Scripture does Jesus refer to Mary as "mother."

Instead He calls her "woman."

Generic. He's telling us something here. Something He repeats to His disciples when He explained to them that His true mother and brothers are not those who are related to Him by blood, but instead are all those who believe in His name as Lord, King, God and Savior.

Repent of the idolatry that takes the focus off the Triune God and places it on the creature.

The infant Jesus is the same as the Jesus who died on the cross.

They are not separate. What kind of loony idea is that?

So?
I never called my mother “Mother”. I called her Ma. She called her mother “Baba”. Your understanding of scripture has no historical basis in cultural context.

Sorry you can’t see past your own American culture. That’s why you don’t understand. But seriously, Baby Jesus who grew up and was the same person that died on a cross for us, was not American and can’t be expected to live up to your American culture.

And yet you insist Scripture allows Mary to be called the "mother of the church" and the "mother of God."

lol. Consistency is not Rome's strong suit.

So you believe the blood the baby Jesus shed during His circumcision saves mankind?

The difference between the baby Jesus and the adult Jesus is profound. But it doesn't surprise me that the papacy teaches an infantile salvation. It does everything it can to infantilize (thank you NL) Jesus Christ while elevating His mother to preeminence.

Here is what the man, Jesus Christ, said about the shedding of His blood. I doubt the eight-day-old infant Jesus would make the same claim...

"Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father." -- John 10:17-18

See the difference? Was the eight-day-old infant Jesus capable of resisting His circumcision?

Of course not.

"For there is one God and one mediator between men and God, the man, Jesus Christ." -- 1 Timothy 2:5

Get it? Christianity was founded by an adult male. Trix are for kids.

I believe that Jesus didn’t have different blood when he was a baby than when he grew up. That’s loony.

Where did the blood go, E?

I’m sorry that you’re stuck in American culture and don’t get the concept. Jesus was a Jew. You are saying that Jesus did not follow the commandments and “Honor His Mother” when he called her “Woman”. You are calling Jesus a sinner. Poles call their mothers Baba which means Woman. Jesus called his mother the same.

Now I don’t know what flavor of Presbyterian you are that believes that Jesus was a different person when he was an infant than when he died on the cross, nor which flavor teaches that Jesus was a sinner, but I do know that my Presbyterian husband doesn’t believe this stuff.

The devil is guiding whomever is telling you that.

lol. Baba also means "crone."

Was Jesus calling His mother a "crone?"

Look up the word "mother" in Scripture and see how many times it was used -- by prophets, by kings, by all sorts of men and women.

But never once by Jesus Christ in reference to Mary.

You're missing what God's word is clearly saying -- Christ's true family is not predicated on blood, but on belief in Him.

Your goofy line of thought completely undermines Christ's work on the cross.

That's a pretty stubborn error.

But it shows how RC apologists end up stranded, hanging from a broken limb of their own making in spite of the fact Christ rests beneath them, ready to save them, if they would just release the error and believe the truth.

You’re saying Jesus a righteous Jew was sinning by not following the law and Honoring his Mother.
That’s blasphemy.
