I agree I love Crystal Lewis and Nicole Mullens! love her song Call on Jesus!
They are heart stoppers for the LORD~
Beautiful rendition of this song! This is my favorite hymn!
I forgot these two lol. I LOVE MUSIC!
How Great is our God - Chris Tomlin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xi0yLRX4d2M
combined with the hymn
How Great Thou Art
Pass Me Not
Had It Not Been
“Long Black Train” by Josh Turner
BLESSED ASSURANCE!
“Be Thou My Vision” (my absolute fave)
For contemporary: “Rebirthing” - Skillet
Yes, personally I prefer the hymn sung in a cappella. It is fairly easy to sing.
2. Blessed Assurance
and my newest favorite
3. The Revelation Song

This song contains words from Revelation set to music.
Contemporary would be “Blessed Be Your Name” by Matt Redman.
BTW nice thread, thanks for starting it.
I like that one, too.
I love to sing The Lord’s Prayer, Ave Maria, Panis Angelicus and other old sacred songs. There are too many worship songs I like.
I like that one, too.
That’s a great song.
I have an autographed photo of Norman on my desk wishing me a happy birthday. What a sweetheart! He phoned my husband at work and talked to him for over thirty minutes. A very unpretentious and nice man.
One gospel song that I have been listening to a lot is “The Love of God,” which was written by Frederick Lehman of Pasadena, Calif. at a time when war, pestilence, economic chaos, and Bolshevism threatened Western civilization. The words are about as relevant today as they were in 1919, when the song first appeared:
“When years of time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
When men, who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call,
Gods love so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adams race
The saints and angels song.”
“
Here's a highly politically incorrect version from "Folk Songs for Conservatives," a sound disc that appeared in 1963:
Hang Earl Warren from a sour apple tree!
His impeachment still won't fill the bill for folks like you and me.
We'll soon cast off the yoke of his judicial tyranny
As we go charging on.Off we charge in all directions,
Wiretaps and Red detections,
Inciting Cuban insurrections,
But first, let's lynch our man!Noel Parmentel, 1963
Bow the knee.
Trust the heart of your Father,
When the answer goes beyond what you can see.
Bow the knee.
Lift your eyes towards heaven and believe the one who holds eternity.
And when you don't understand
The purpose of his plan.
In the presence of the King,
Bow the knee.

Awesome, praise music. The choir, the pastors, the choir leader and the congregation - we were all in tears before the Lord afterward. It was a very special feeling of the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Shortly after 911, I heard this on the radio sung acappella
by some gentleman. I don’t know who, but it was absolutely
the most beautiful and moving thing I’ve ever heard. I have
seen it in our hymnal, but I’m thinking that it may be over
the range of our church choir.
