I find it fascinatint that whose who don’t believe feel a need to argue with those of us who do. Are they trying to convince us or themselves?
The Lord is indeed coming but when He comes He promises to bring a sword. People need to hear a message of repentance for their sins; not that God loves them and has a wonderful plan for their lives. He doesn't unless He brings them to repentance.
BTW-There is a theological error that seems to be perpetrated that hell is somehow separation from God. The more I have thought about this, the more I have become convinced that this is simply wrong. Please considered that our Lord Jesus was in hell for three days. Therefore, simple logic would dictate that hell cannot be a separation of God since our Lord Jesus never lost any of His deity while in hell. By definition, hell would stop being hell with our Lord Jesus. Second, since God the Father is omnipresent, logic would also say that He is not separate from hell. Rather, it appears that He would be present but unaffected by the torment of hell. Finally, the illustration of Lazarus and the rich man appears to indicate that the wicked will be aware of the heavenly presence but will never wish to partake of the feast no matter how much agony they're in.
