I think most people can understand the inclination to feel sorry for those who are different or don’t fit in. I believe this is a right and good emotion. Most of proper thought and good will attempt to help those people by giving them a hand to fit into society.
Only those with twisted thinking or those who may have a proclivity that they keep well hidden would want to change that society to fit the individuals or groups that do not fit in. What you end up with is a society of misfits with no social cohesion and with people who are selfish and unreasonable in their demands of that society.
I do not condemn Ted Kennedy for his feelings of care for those who do not seem to fit into society. I will however condemn anyone who continues to support the upheaval and renting of society in the vain pursuit of making us accept something far less than what we have enjoyed and worked for.
I think the Church is making a big comeback in the demand for religious perserverance and observation.
