I really believe, first of all, seeing the joy in [the pope's] eyes, listening to his message, and I really believe that his basic statement, Christ our hope, is right. And I think much of what’s wrong with our country and with the western world is a function of looking inside ourselves, not just looking at money or looking at our wallets.

Quit giving this opportunist more credit than he deserves. The truth of the matter is painfully obvious: he wants to be president. The conventional wisdom is now that Obama has a “Catholic problem”, and suddenly Newt’s converting. during the Bush admin he was seen working for health care with Hillary & support environmental issues with Gore. All of a sudden, he’s done a 180. IT’S ALL JUST POLITICS.
