Either one is capable of answering for oneself, or a phone home to the guru is needed.
Jeff and Nancy are the main Elim franchisees these days.

Butt out please.....Mary told me that Peter was not the first Pope, so since she is so sure he is NOT the first Pope, I asked a very simple question of her...WHO is the first Pope.

Butt out? ... LOL. I never butted in, but if you want an answer, I’ll accomodate my belief to you if you’ll stop badgering a fellow Christian Lady.

I wouldn’t know about that, Petronski, since I avoid those threads like a plague ... because that’s what division among those in Christ is, a plague. I do however debate the Mormons because I do not view mormonism as a Christian doctrine.

You took it to be butting in. I did not intend it as such. Now, do you want me to answer the question you’ve been using like a bludgeon? I’m not a Catholic by the way, I’m an Episcopalian presently.

I asked it of Mary since she INSISTS that Peter was not the first Pope.
You're NOT a Catholic???? OMG! I'm soooo surprised.

I believe in the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. Does that surprise you? ... My meaning for ‘Catholic’ may be a bit different than yours however. I also address the Pope as Holy Father.

I confess, I have not read the thread. I was merely drawn to the badgering of a fellow Christian Lady. I don’t think I’m going to read the thread, now, either. Have a pleasant evening.

The word “badgering” is itself an editorial.
Have a good night and a fine Thursday.

I agree. The choice is reaffirmed in the sacrament of Confirmation when you are old enough to make a reasoned choice and you decide you want Him to come into your life in an adult way.
Jesus celebrated all the Jewish rites. Apparently He thought they were of value. He changed them and made them into something new. For His entire life He followed the Jewish rites and festivals. I’d say He was validating the importance of “rites” in human’s spiritual lives.

Just curious.
What does the bolded Scripture mean to you? I read that it clearly says water baptism saves.
For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you alsonot the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at God's right handwith angels, authorities and powers in submission to him. 1 Peter 3:18-22
