Since we are being treated to the closed posting of the entire BOM in the Religion Forum it seems, I thought I would post the Klingon Chapter 4 of Nephi so that EVERYONE could comment on this thread.

Why not? According to mormonism, Klingons might actually exist...why, our god might have even been a former Klingon!

It doesn’t make it any more readable.

IIRC, more people speak/read/write Klingon than Esperanto.

I wouldn’t mind learning Elvish (from Tolkien’s books). No time, though....

I’m too busy studying Russian, Spanish and Farsi.

I'd agree with that.. as far as it is correctly translated.

Hold your nose closed and recite after me....

“huh, huh, huh, huh! Don't mind them, they always speak Klingon at conventions.”

And remember this young Star-fleet officer, the only Trekkie to ever get laid was Captain Kirk. ;)

Is that 'old school' Klingon, or 'next generation'?

LOL Well, I certainly hope you aren't sitting there waiting for people to talk about how weird the Mormon faith it. I mean - you posted from the BOM in Klingon for crying out loud.

Now that's weird!

Tolkien's elvish is mostly Finnish and Welsh.

Tolkien actually developed two varieties of Elvish.

Quenya was the High-Elvish language, roughly the equivalent of Latin in 18th century Europe.

Sindarin was a living language spoken by the Elves of Middle Earth and some humans, mostly aristocrats descended from the Dunedain.

Seems like a more appropriate language to rewrite Dianetics in.
