I wonder who wrote the screenplay or the original source material. If it doesn’t predate “Stargate,” I think they owe some royalties or something!

I wonder if there can be any true randomness anywhere. An event that seems random may, in fact, be the product of a system either too subtile or complex for us to grasp.

Stargate is a wonderful series, but it plays with ideas that have permeated Science Fiction for decades. SG-1 also plays with ideas that Erik von Daniken proposed as serious science in his various “Chariots of the Gods” books. Not saying I agree with EvD, mind ... I think he’s a crank.

Billy Thorpe!!!! Children of the Sun is a song from the 70's with the same kind of story as "knowing"

EvD is a weird guy but not sure about the crank. He does ask some very interesting questions. Some are easily answered and others are very mind bending. I would in no way be surprised to find that we were seeded by an alien race - intentional or not. The Stargate premise is very interesting. It allows for many things in SciFi to be “possible”. Some physicists think a Stargate may be easier to build a gate rather than a a warp drive.

A lot of great science fiction draws it's inspiration from the battle of good vs evil and the Bible. Take Christofer Walken's "Prophecy" series, for example. Or Steven King's "The Stand". Every vampire movie faces Christians and crosses.

I believe that what we perceive to be evil, is all just part of God’s plan. I don’t think He sees things as we do...meaning what we think is evil, isn’t to God, it’s just the way things are.
