Don’t confuse salvation with Rapture.
“What ever happened to the other half a week or 3.5 years?”
Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
The 70th week is cut short. “...in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease...”
Sacrifice and oblation ceased with the offering of Jesus on the cross, in the midst of the 70th week.
Which day of the Lord?
Think very carefully before you respond
The Day of the Lord (return of Christ on earth for 1000 years of His Kingdom rule) is different than "our gathering to Him" in the air (rapture - in which He doesn't come on the earth to set up His kingdom - for why would we have to be caught up in the air if He was going to stay on the ground, we could just walk to Him)
It is the Holy Spirit who is "The One" who needs to be taken out of the way for all total evil to flourish on the earth. It is the Holy Spirit in us that keeps total evil in check. Since the Holy Spirit resides in us, by Him going back to the Father means we will too at the same time. Remember He is our seal, or deposit of salvation. Remove Him from dwelling in us, then we become lost again. It is His Spirit in us that does the good works through us until this flesh is gone.
Of course we are not the children of wrath, but what does that have to do with starting the weeks at 49 and that being weeks when the other time was in a week for a year? This seems to be very inconsistent. Is not the first rule of hermeneutic that if you start one way weeks for years you don’t switch over to weeks for weeks.
Can you please move this thread to Religion?
Thank you.

bttt
Well stated.
I worry about the ‘believers’ today who rationalize homosexuality as simply being a chemical condition. IMHO, they are likely to accept the mark of the beast is similar rationalized arguments, but not through faith in Christ.
I’m strictly post trib these days.
It is already in the Religion Forum.
With that said those who weren't his elect (many of whom might have called out to God and still be saved, yet having to endure earthly punishment) all perished despite the warnings of the ones God chose to seal away from the hour of temptation and tribulation.
I would think the raputre would be much the same, those in the Body of Chirst have been warning the unsaved for years of the fate they will endure and have been laughed at. Soon that Ark door will be sealed shut and the waters will come yet again.
That’s strange.
i was in News/activism when i saw this thread. No matter, it’s where it belongs, thanks.
Scripture is quite clear there will be salvation AFTER the Rapture. How does that happen without God calling them through His Spirit? Dead people cannot hear or see without rebirth and that comes from the Holy Spirit. It is posible the Holy Spirit could remain for 3 1/2 years aftre Rapture, but it look bleak after that. The Bible describes it as the worst days in History( and we've had some pretty bad ones), and we wouldn't survive it unless Jesus "cut it short".
i just told the Religion moderator, i was in the News/Activism section when i saw the thread posted there. Server hiccup maybe.
No matter, it’s where it belongs, no matter how it got there.
Carry on.
The more perfect sacrifice remained with Christ on the Cross.
More significant is that the Cross allows God to forgive later with respect to every believer.
Consider if that verse doesn’t refer to the 2nd temple sacrifices, but instead the sacrifice and ablation to cease in reference to the Cross.
Now consider the abomination that makes desolate.
What happens to every believer when they step out of fellowship with God in regards to their relationship? They fall out of fellowship. How do they return? 1stJohn 1.
What happens if the whole Church falls away, and doesn’t return to Him? The Great Apostasy.
Every Great blessing comes from God. There is a reason for every little technological gimic out there.
Why the Mark of the Beast?
Used to identify for every economic transaction.
Where is the temple today?
The body of the believer provides the temple for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
How do we get faith?
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
What does the Holy Spirit minister?
He glorifies the Son by sanctifying the believer in this age.
Are we sanctified while we are out of fellowship?
No, when we are in fellowship, He is free to further sanctify us.
If we sin, are we in fellowship?
No, we might have eternal life, but when we sin we grieve the Holy Spirit. 1st John 1, when we turn back to Him and confess our sins, He is sure and just to forgive us our sins.
Does God do anything that is good for nothingness?
No, His Word is not without effect.
agreed and well put.
If I am wrong please show me in the bible. thank you
Cool
For the 1st 1800 years or so after Jesus’ sojourn here on earth, there was no hint of a pre-trib rapture. In fact, no talk about a “rapture”.
In the early 1800’s a young Scottish girl, a follower of Edward Irving, had a “vision”, and when John Nelson Darby, one of the early leaders of the Plymouth Brethren movement went to visit with this Scottish lass and from that began teaching a “pre-tribulation Rapture”. Edward Irving also promoted this. One of those who was a great admirer of Darby was Scofield. Much of Scofield’s Notes in the Scofield Reference Bible come from Darby’s teachings. Scofield’s notes promote the “Pre-trib” teaching of Darby.
I grew up under Darby’s teachings. My great-grandfather in England was contemporary with Darby (some 20 years junior to Darby) and he was a follower of Darby’s through the Plymouth Brethren.
In our day LeHay/Jenkins promoted this teaching with their “Left Behind” series. In Mathew, however, those “left behind” were the good ones and those taken were taken to judgement. Which one do you want to be?
It talks also about “...as in the days of Noah...”
“But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” Matt 24:37-39.
Noah and those in the ark were taken through - those not in the ark were taken out.
