I ended up with 4 sixth graders, one 4th grader and one Jr. in HS in my RCIC, from the beginning it was an exceptionally good class.
Another thing we do at our parish is try to have 2 teachers in each classroom. I’ve only taught alone 2 yrs and I much prefer having back-up and support.

I enjoyed team teaching as well. I have never done RCIC, that would be tough with that age range. Wow! I’m impressed.

I do not believe scatological verbs (potty language) is permitted in the Religion Forum.

It certainly means you can discuss and contribute. It just doesnt lend itself to snide remarks or repeated attacks that have no bearing on the topic.
I can guarantee you there will be snide remarks from both sides of the fence.
The Catechism thread is Caucus if anything.

What I like about kids that age is that they are no longer babies, but they are not completely jaded yet. They still can be awed. This group is viewed by most rel ed instructors as too challenging. Since you relate so well to them, that makes you a valuable asset to your local parish's religious education program. Go for it! And God bless you with this work.

Well Thank You, I will pursue it. If they need me, I would love to give it another chance. I loved preparing them for Confirmation.

The Catechism thread is Caucus if anything. Demonstrably false.
Why do you post so many false statements?

FYI, there are a couple (or more) Open Protestant threads with only three or two replies to them.
~If you are looking for a more confrontational stance.
I don’t think Catholics are too interested in those Open Protestant threads, I’m not at any rate and as evidenced by the lack of posts, I’m not alone.
~But of course, you would probably view your participation in them as preaching to the choir, or whatever hincky bit of differentiation between yourselves in your various and sundry theological stances.

To: tiki
Our parish requires two adults in each classroom for PSR. One can be a parent, but anyone who works with kids of any age has to take parish training, and cannot work alone.
That’s a rule I like. My grandkids take religion classes as part of the parish school curriculum. I was impressed that my second grade granddaughter could recite the rosary, and knew the three traditional mysteries by heart, so I got her a sterling rosary, and she proudly asked Msr to bless it.

Reggie, markomalley posted a thread where he asked for feedback about whether the threads should be open or ecumenic.
Evidently, he decided on ecumenic, and I personally am happy about that, because of the ecumenic rules, they seem to fit the subject best as far as I’m concerned.
And this is an ecumenic thread.

Stop being antagonistic or leave the thread.
To: Judith Anne; markomalley
I think the Ecumenic tag was the right call. After a few threads, it will become apparent what is not going to be permitted, and then serious, intelligent conversation can flourish.

I look forward to that.
Still, do you happen to know how many countries JPII visited, just off hand? I know it was a lot...

All you really need are the the Catechism and the Companion (but it helps to have a Bible around, too)Words escape me. Well, "ecumenical" words escape me. I'm outa this Kumbaya fest too.
