Maybe the Vampires are Protestant.

More likely the writers are hostile towards Christianity.

Easter is my favorite holiday. I celebrate Our Lord's resurrection on that day.

It's like when my kids celebrate my birthday in June. To me, it's the thought that counts.

Easter is my favorite holiday. I celebrate Our Lord's resurrection on that day.

Yah'shua did not rise from the dead on Easter, the Pagan feast.

Easter and not First Fruits was commanded by Constantine the first Pontiff of the Roman church.

Yah'shua rose from the dead on the YHvH commanded Feast of First Fruits.

It is the day following the shabbat following Passover.

lol, that's the beauty of it, no idols, no rituals, no big edifice, no priests. As the Lord has said, He prefers tabernacles not made with human hands. And that would be any human constructs.

>>Then one should remember that contending against certain doctrines is a matter of faithfulness to some. In other words, if they did not confront what they understand to be false doctrine they would not be worshipping God.<<

Sorry this took so long. Nothing Personal and I’m not talking about one specific person so I hope no one is thin skinned about it.

In the DSM-IV this is called Obsessive Compulsive Disorder with religious delusions.

I would code it with a primary ICD-9 code of 300.3 for the OCD
(criteria from the DSM-IV
Obsessions are defined by:

Recurrent and persistent thoughts, impulses, or images that are experienced at some time during the disturbance, as intrusive and inappropriate and that cause marked anxiety or distress.
The thoughts, impulses, or images are not simply excessive worries about real-life problems.
The person attempts to ignore or suppress such thoughts, impulses, or images, or to neutralize them with some other thought or action.
The person recognizes that the obsessional thoughts, impulses, or images are a product of his or her own mind, and are not based in reality.

Compulsions are defined by:
Repetitive behaviors or mental acts that the person feels driven to perform in response to an obsession, or according to rules that must be applied rigidly.
The behaviors or mental acts are aimed at preventing or reducing distress or preventing some dreaded event or situation; however, these behaviors or mental acts either are not connected in a realistic way with what they are designed to neutralize or prevent or are clearly excessive.

criteria not inclusive)

And a secondary of religious delusion with an ICD-9 code of 297.
Clearly, when a person is told, for example, that Catholics do not believe that Mary is needed for salvation and that person insists that this is fact, it is a religious delusion. Referenced here in DSM

“A false belief based on incorrect inference about external reality that is firmly sustained despite what almost everybody else believes and despite what constitutes incontrovertible and obvious proof or evidence to the contrary. The belief is not one ordinarily accepted by other members of the person’s culture or subculture”

While neither of these disorders are disturbing to lifestyle, both are considered inappropriate in society and are easily controlled with a Seratonin reuptake inhibitor such as Paxil, Prozac or Zoloft.

I’m not really sure that encouraging these behaviors is
helpful, at least that’s what I found when I was dealing with patients.

Anyway, gotta go guys. My backyard is nothing but twirly-wirly maple seeds that have to be swept.

. In this context, “I believe...” plainly means “I could be wrong, but to the best of my recollection...”

No. the context is someone who is thinking of becoming a Catholic said it. So it's a lie. Or a sign of brain damage. Or both.

I don’t presume to know Our Lord’s mind. I do know that as a parent, I don’t mind at all when my kids celebrate something on a different day.

It’s the thought that counts.

Well, I started when I was in grad school (for English) and asked one of the Hebrew teachers at the university if I could sit in on his beginners class. It was modern Hebrew (taught by an American Reform rabbi), but we learned the vowel points right from the beginning. My second year, still at the university, was taught by an Israeli, and she favored lots of speaking and the book was, like most modern Hebrew, written without vowels or other pointing.

My second year teacher told me about the local Hebrew College, and the next summer I signed up for their Ulpan -- based on the Israeli method developed for all the refugees after WW II -- speaking and writing right from the beginning, no vowel points.

After a couple of years of Ulpan, I took a linguistics course in the college -- taught in modern Hebrew, but with an emphasis on grammar: the vowel points, changes in form in various declensions and such.

I think the most fun way to start is with an Ulpan-style course. It seems like the easiest way to get your feet wet, what with the alphabet, the right-to-left reading and all!

Hebrew wasn't a spoken language for about 2,000 years, so it didn't undergo the changes a living language would have. Thus, you can read reams of Biblical Hebrew from a study of modern Hebrew. Some forms are no longer used; some are still used, but are definitely "literary." Some no one quite knows what they are!

I hope you find something appealing -- and I hope you love it as much as I do! :)

Constantine the first Pontiff of the Roman church

Do you think this becomes true if you say it enough times?

I think there’s a lot of interesting wondering to be done in distinguishing Personality Disorders (see especially Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Histrionic ditto) from other ailments.

I pray for your eternal soul that you are right in your guessing.

The L-rd's mind is there for all to know in His Holy Word and not in the Fables of man !

Actualy O-C’s prefer rituals, like handwashing, or recitation of some chant over and over, and they worry a lot, not having much assurance in life. Others hear voices and or see things, and can become delusional. Or they can be deemed “mystics” and made into holy people, and after they die, others pray to them. They are relatively harmless as long as they can’t exercise control over others, which unfortunately some do try to do, like Bloody Mary, whom I do believe was related to Henry 8

Prove it.

The ark was made by skilled tradesmen. Christ is the true Ark and He was not made by human hands. All who are in the Ark of Christ are saved, just like Noah and his little band.
