So you don’t see the problem of Jewish students, regardless of number, being involved in book burning?

Or Yehuda Deputy Mayor Uzi Aharon said missionaries recently ... distributing hundreds of New Testaments and missionary material. After receiving complaints, Aharon said, he got into a loudspeaker car .. and drove through the neighborhood, urging people to turn over the material to Jewish religious students who went door to door to collect it.

"The books were dumped into a pile and set afire in a lot near a synagogue," he said. "Not all of the New Testaments that were collected were burned, but hundreds were," he said.

"I certainly don't denounce the burning of the booklets, he said. I denounce those who distributed the booklets."

Police had no immediate comment.

Earlier this year, the teenage son of a prominent Christian missionary was seriously wounded when a package bomb delivered to the family's West Bank home went off in his hands.

Last year, arsonists burst into a Jerusalem church used by Messianic Jews and set the building on fire, raising suspicions that Jewish extremists were behind the attack. No one claimed responsibility, but the same church was burned down 25 years ago by ultra-Orthodox Jewish extremists.

Calling Abe Foxman and the ADL. please pick up the White Courtesy phone.

Some people just neeeeeeever learn.

The New testament is just words written on paper and burning it is hardly barbaric.

So would you be okay with Muhammadans gathering up Torah scrolls and burning them?

Sure I do. They're idiots who deserve a spanking from the principal (or whoever runs that joint). But newsworthy? Only for those wanting to start trouble where none exists.

The threadmeister has not a clue as to what real barbarism is.

I don’t know. I find it barbaric when people burn things they don’t like. Especially my Sacred Scriptures.

I think it was wrong for those students to burn those books.

I think it is wrong for people to blame all Jews for the actions of a few ignorant students.

And I think it’s very wrong for someone to post a thread like this and attempt to goad Jews and Christians into fighting each other, at a time when we need to stand together to face the threat of Islamic terrorism.

Why are you posting this? Are you trying to incite a flamewar between Jews and Christians?

Should we ignore news stories from an Israeli Paper about Jews burning Christians Scripture for the sake of not causing disharmony?

>>Wow. Would you feel the same way if it were Muhammadans doing this? Or burning the Torah? <<

I wouldn’t call it barbaric. Just like saying that a Koran was flushed shouldn’t get the Muslims in a tizzy.

It was tasteless and something that I don’t like, but understanding that it was six students, come on. It’s paper.

Now if a bunch of people smashed a church, yes I would be upset, because it is someone else’s property. But these books were given away.

You see tons of them in the trash at airports. I don’t think that’s barbaric. In poor taste, yes.

Okay. So it’s a matter of numbers then.

Don’t Muslims hate Christian Missionaries? Isn’t it the Muslims who use bombs?

Just saying.

It’s hilarious that you are choosing to attack me rather than deal with the fact that you are defending the indefensible.

My problem with the Muslims is their desire to force respect of their religion on other people.

Christians love Jerusalem and the Jewish people. Jerusalem is spoken of throughout the New Testament.

I say this because Jews and Christians have a bond and that is Israel. Islam is a made up religion revolving around vengeance. All the writings in all the books are just paper and ink.

Jesus said, Heaven and Earth will pass away but my words wont, and no amount of burning of the New Testament can change that.

Exactly, burn em, flush em..Christ will still forgive, and so will Christians.

Now try this with the Koran.

Besides, the Romans already tried this (metaphorically, they just used Christians since they didn’t have bibles)...it doesn’t work

I think it was a ridiculously stupid move on the part of those students who didn’t at all catch the irony of the situation.

I hope each of them get the smackdown from their parents when they get home.

But I’m not going to look down on Israel because of some students.

Geez, I hope they don’t judge us by the Berkley campus!!!!!!

Ah, I see you missed my post #24. ....or just conveniently ignored it. I clearly condemned the idiots who did this.

So because Muslims are barbarians, Jews get a free pass.

Just exposing you for who you — a troublestarting drama queen.

And you are a lightweight who can't process information that counters your binary thinking. But hey keep looking like a idiot you seem to enjoy it.
