Is that one of your Gifts thru Mary???
Speaking of condescending and insulting...
What? I’m telling you, go up to any priest and tell him you worship Mary as divine, and he will admonish you to conform to Christian teaching and that you are putting yourself into grave sin. If he doesn’t do so, go to the bishop. That priest would be seperating himself from the Church. Or what do you think would happen?
I found this wierdness:http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/09/27/nuns.excommunicated.ap/index.html
Freegards
I'm not interested in their politics...I'm interested in their religion...Apparently you miss the point...The point is this is a Vatican issue...It's being discussed in Vatican appointed councils as to whether or not to make it dogma...And then you 'will' believe it or be 'anathema' to your pope...
>>Is that one of your Gifts thru Mary??? <<
What do you mean? Can you define that a bit more?
Yes...Because you guys have already posted 'that part' a thousand times...
So what's up, you guys can't comment on the parts I posted???
The part you posted does not nullify what I posted...
You know. Like: abortion is legal, as settled by the law. Don't pick at the scab by discussing abortion.
>>It’s being discussed in Vatican appointed councils as to whether or not to make it dogma...<<
And Global Warming is being discussed in congress. Does that make you Green?
Why do you want to shut down discussion?
Show me a settlement agreement between both sides on this issue, or caselaw or enactment of law which would apply to all Freepers (Catholic or not) which states the issue is "settled" and that raising the claim again is illegal, libelous or slanderous or could result in penalities - then I will not allow the claim to be made.
>>So what’s up, you guys can’t comment on the parts I posted???<<
Oooo, pick me! I’ll comment!
A group of Catholics wants this discussed by the Vatican. They can say anything they want.
Doesn’t make it law.
You're right it doesn't nullify it; it qualifies and defines it.
Well it’s already been settled.
I am the Lord your God, you shall not have strange Gods before me.
If you go against that, you go to Hell. All of us believe that.
So, because it has already been posted that Catholic law forbids idol worship, using certain non-Catholics to define what the Catholic church believes is like using the French to define our consitution.
Do we say that something is not settled because the French do not agree that the case is “settled”? We as Americans know our laws and are more than willing to explain them to anyone (as the Catholics have done here). Will the French take our explaination and “settle” it.
Nope.
First, I'm not a Calvinist...
What counts is the 'standard'...I hear what you say but then I see what you do...And using the Scripture as the standard, I'd say you guys worship things other than God...
I realize your religious tradition plays a larger role in truth for you guys than does the Scripture...But then, that's your choice...If you want to contine a practice that's described as worship in the Scriptures, I guess you'll have to take the heat for it...(no pun intended)...
I’m not getting it. Could you give an example of an issue that has a law like this?
Freegards, thank you for your efforts on FR
First, yes, that was wierd and thanks for going through the effort.
I imagine that I could be a faithful RC and tell my priest that I have been praying to Mary and that she has richly blessed me. I could go into details for an hour about the specifics I've been praying about and the specifics of how she has blessed me, given to me, increased my faith, helped my witness, helped my family, helped my in the RCC and I would be patted on the head. But if at any point I used the W word, there would be a caution not to use the W word.
You'll have to do better than that.

You can imagine. I imagine that I am 5’11”, blonde and look like Rebecca Romijn but it’s not true.
Have you walked up to a priest and tried that? In my parish you would get a lecture about the difference between believing the blessings come from Mary and where they really come from. I’ve heard it explained to children.
The Church of Scientology has successfully prosecuted ex-members for publication of its secrets. Caselaw is established and therefore, if those materials were reproduced here, they would be pulled.
