Guess I need to read it more closely.

Incredible.

Off to the surgery.

Thanks.

I was going to avoid posting in this thread at all costs... because I think no good will come of it, but I think the problems comes not from your source but from the argument that you attempting from from drawing upon this source.

By stating that the KKK is mostly protestant, you are postulating a guilt by association fallacy. Namely:

1. Protestant thought spawns hate, or 2. Questions about doctrinal issues in the Catholic church stem from hate and bigotry.

I am not wearing my asbestos pants today, so I mostly wanted to stay out of the fray. But surely the question of if Marian doctrine in the Catholic Church is worship (which I do not believe it is) or if some Catholics overemphasize Mary (which I believe they do, esp. some of the small New Mexico missions which I have been to) can be posed and addressed without malice or hatred?

Enough! enough! every one of our readers will cry out, and therefore we stay our hand. Surely "for this cause, God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

Amen!!!

I've been to the "enough enough!" state many times on this subject.

I suspect the response to be very unusual here because this is the most naked of idolatries. There is little to be said in defense.

How long do you think it took to fully develop the doctrine of the Trinity?

>> I looked it up on the net and found estimates ranging from 10,000 to 100,000. <<

Really? Gee, because that’s funny: the very first primary source *I* could find said 762. And that was from a 16th-century, Protestant polemic: the Martyrology of the Huguenots.

The later and later you go from the original date, the higher and higher the estimates go.

That is not for you to decide.

It's a concluseion.

Catholicism is THE Christian doctrine, 1900+ years young. The counterfeits are of a far younger vintage.

1900+ years of idolatry is not something to be proud of.

Was Lee referring to Bill Clinton’s philosophy?

This thread title sounds like an underground movie from the sixties.

Stop that! I'm not laughing, I'm really not, nope, not laughing at all....and you should be ashamed of yourself.

***Oh great, an article by a Baptist (Spurgeon) referring to an Anglican (Pusey) selectively quoting on what Catholics believe. So much more reliable than listening to the Catholics themselves. (So, Mr. Hitler, do the Jews really drink the blood of German babies?)***

Do you honestly think that Baptists are like Nazis for comparrison? Sad, really. I feel sorry for you.

HELLO?

Just as Prottys cannot accurately determine what is in the heart/mind of any other Protty OR RC . . .

NEITHER CAN ANY RC

declare accurately, emphatically, that

NO RC worships Mary.

That knife cuts both ways.

It boggles my mind that RC’s are not more logically alert to such facts.

HUMANS ARE INHERENTLY IDOLATROUS. That’s just a fact.

It’s a fact in every Protty congregation as well as every RC congregation. Naysaying doesn’t remove it.

It takes Biblical focus on God and dogged ruthlessness with one’s self as well as Holy Spirit’s help with the Sword of The Spirit to keep one’s self free from idolatry.

THAT’S TRUE REGARDLESS OF WHETHER ONE IS PROTTY OR RC.

It’s just a human fact.

ADD IN THE !!!!TRADITIONS!!!! and outrageous encouragements TOWARD overweening

VENERATION, ADORATION [and other pseudonyms for worship]

on the part of the magisterical . . .

it becomes a very serious problem.

Of course, SOME RC’s are no MORE prone to idolatry than SOME prottys.

That’s a far cry from saying NO RC’s are idolatrous.

What arrogance . . . RC’s would have us believe

that THEIR CONGREGATIONS

AMONGST ALL THE RELIGIOUS GROUPS ON THE PLANET

ARE

NOT

IDOLATROUS!

That’s like saying . . .

South Seas Islanders are

MOST averse of all the countries of the world,

to swimming.

Balderdash.

Now you know that some facts are not accepted as facts

because the true facts come from UNRUBBERIZED histories.

LOL.

...made in error.

Agreed, though that is irrelevant to Catholicism.

***The largest group of users of the word “Papist” as a derogitory comment was and still is the KKK (i.e. Klu Klux Klan).***

I suppose the insinuation is that Protestants that use the term “Papist” are members of the Klan. Again, I feel sorry for you.

It’s not that she didn’thave human parents but that the normal rules of Original Sin were suspended in her case. IOW, she got a pass.

Was that "pass" given to her at the time or some four hundred years after the fact by misguided Marian Zealots????

NO NO NO NO NO

I have it on the best rubberized authority . . .

NO FACTS

from UNrubberized PROTTY histories

are EVER, EVER, EVER

the least bit correct.

Mary’s hankky launderess verified the above herself. Can’t get much higher in authority than that.

Quix, for the love of God, would you please stop making your posts take 6 to 8 inches of thread when you could encapsulate them to 1 or 2 inches of thread? The double spacing after 3 to 6 words sentences is aggravating to say the least.
