There is a difference:
"Caucus threads are closed to any poster who is not a member of the caucus. If it says Catholic Caucus and you are not Catholic, do not post to the thread. However, if the poster of the caucus welcomes you, I will not boot you from the thread."
" Ecumenic threads in this trial run are closed to all anti arguments. Posters who try to tear down others beliefs or use subterfuge to accomplish the same goal are the disrupters on ecumenic threads and will be booted from the thread and/or suspended."

Not if everyone follows the rules. The RM made them, we just need to follow them.Hah -- the RM made rules before but the Abuse-Button-Pushers failed to follow them!!! So now we get a new set of rules --

Bile would be what I taste in my mouth when I read such as your tag line or that of Mad Dawg, or much of the extra-Biblical RCC dogma & doctrine.Tough -- it's here to stay.

LOL. If you only knew. ;-)
I know nothing. It was purely rhetorical.

Oh, btw, it’s common courtesy to ping the person you talk about.

The whole co-redemptress/coredemptrix thing is just a prime example of two sides talking past each other, using the same term but having completely different ideas in mind.Yes, their version of Catholicism is different from the Catholic version of Catholicism, and it is impossible to dislodge them from their belief. They are very very attached to their odd hobby.

Ex-Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster" I'm a member...or at least was. I was a part of it too, at least until the after service pot luck, then it became part of me.

It is impossible to talk about the reformation without talking about disagreements.*******************
The "open" thread is still available to us all:
" Open threads are a town square posters may argue for or against beliefs of any kind. They may tear down other's beliefs. They may ridicule, similar to the Smoky Backroom with the exception that a poster must never make it personal. Reading minds and attributing motives are forms of making it personal. Thin-skinned posters will be booted from open threads because in the town square, they are the disrupters."

Okay, but the ecumenic thread looks like the red-headed stepbaby of the Catholic/Mormon caucus thread to me.

It's also the boiling frog analogy. Toss the frog in and bring the water to a boil slowly. By the time the frog figures out the water is getting hot it's to late.
How long till the complaint goes up "hey those open threads are to rough". "we have ecumenical threads, we have caucus threads, we have devotional threads", we don't need open threads. Once you start down the road of censorship it doesn't stop.

Most threads will probably remain “open” threads, I would guess. If I understand correctly, those threads that are designated “caucus” or “ecumenical” simply have different posting guidelines, which in the case of the “ecumenical” threads does not preclude anyone from participation.
