Do not fear the one who can destroy your body. Fear the One who can condemn your body and your soul.
The fear of the Lord must take precedence over the fear of cancer, financial struggle and inadequate pleasure.
Is it truly difficult to understand that this earth is a place of trial, of sin and of trouble? Not one of us gets out of it with our skin in tact.
The only meaningful question is, “are you going to get out of this life with your soul in tact?”
My pleasure.
Amen. Great post.
“During this visitation the pastor’s wife (it was an AOG church) got totally whacked by the Holy Ghost - she began running around barking like a dog or squawking like a chicken as a powerful prophetic spirit came on her.’”
Yikes! That sure isn’t the Holy Spirit.
I don't have a problem with Todd Bentley. I've been listening to him for about 2 years now. He may not be 100% right on everything. He's human and like the rest of us is still learning and growing. I have yet to find one Christian denomination that is 100% right on everything. Something is always left out, over looked, man made tradition, ect.
I asked myself several questions about Todd Bentley. Is he getting people saved? Does he talk about Jesus, who does he say Jesus is? Does he give Him the glory? Are people being healed? What are the fruits of what he does?
And for the detractors, I'd have to ask. What are you doing? How many have you lead to Christ in the past year or so? How many people have been healed by the laying on of your hands? How many times have you stepped out to do something for Jesus that would or could cost you everything? What are you fruits?
Isn't it just like the religious spirit to come against the real thing. Just like the Sadducee's and the Phrasees did to Jesus. Even calling Jesus the devil. Matthew 12:24 But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "This man casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons."
Praise God's Holy Name!

I am unfamiliar with Todd Bentley, having only answered a generic question as to whether there is such a thing as miraculous healing, though I will generally agree with your position wrt his defense.

A very sober question, to be sure, and one that many/any of us would find ourselves inadequate in the resolution thereof.

VERY true words.
Thank you for your reply.
Do you have to have perfect doctrine to be saved?
Do you have to have perfect doctrine to be used of God?
Do you have perfect doctrine?
I witnessed the gold dust at the first time it showed up at the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship. It was real, as were the gold teeth that appeared in hundreds of people’s mouths (one from our church received that). It was real. Yes, things that God does do sometimes feel and look strange. But I refuse to judge what He’s doing through imperfect people. If this is of God, it will last. If it is not, it will fall. Todd Bentley isn’t my kind of evangelist and I am put off by some of his actions. I’ve seen him in person myself. But if God chooses to use him, well, what can I say? But we always need to be vigilant.
But let’s not forget that He sometimes uses preachers, evangelists and ordinary people to heal.
My dear friend Maria went to Africa with Todd Bentley and there were MANY miracles there. Another friend went to Lakeland and came back a changed man—changed for the better. God IS doing something wonderful there, in spite of Todd Bentley or anyone else. We do need discernment for sure but we can’t throw out the baby with the bath water. These are both Godly people and they aren’t easily swayed by fads. It was a life changer for both of them.
Amen, MsLady. Because God’s not in a box, He can move any way He wishes.
Well Stated!
Blessings in Christ!
One that actually preaches the gospel and where real healings take place and the preacher doesn’t attract attention to himself by his shenanigans. In short, one that looks like the apostles of the Scriptures.
I am sorry you are blind.
