Don’t expect the LDS Church when they are ‘controlling the USA’, or if they get to any point where they have a theocracy, to protect the rights of those who may think differently than the Brethren. In fact to oppose the LDS mainline position could mean prison or death if the LDS Church ever got its way. See below.

The Words of Mormon
The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ

15 And it came to pass that after there had been false Christs, and their mouths had been shut, and they punished according to their crimes;

16 And after there had been false prophets, and false preachers and teachers among the people, and all these having been punished according to their crimes; and after there having been much contention and many dissensions away unto the Lamanites, behold, it came to pass that king Benjamin, with the assistance of the holy prophets who were among his people—

17 For behold, king Benjamin was a holy man, and he did reign over his people in righteousness; and there were many holy men in the land, and they did speak the word of God with power and with authority; and they did use much sharpness because of the stiffneckedness of the people—

18 Wherefore, with the help of these, king Benjamin, by laboring with all the might of his body and the faculty of his whole soul, and also the prophets, did once more establish peace in the land.

It’s easy to establish peace when you have sent all your enemies or those with opposing views to prison or killed them.

Click on the Religion Mod’s name and you will see the rules for closed “caucus” threads. I’m not sure why this thread lost it’s caucus status. The RM says it had something to do with the “apostasy” losing something. Seems pretty vague to me.

The restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was young when the First Presidency was organized, followed by the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, which was made up of ordinary men, and then the Quorums of the Seventy. The average age of that first Quorum of the Twelve was 28. There has been an unbroken line of authority. The priesthood keys given to the Apostles have always been held by members of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve.

Question: It says "the restored church"...If Jesus had 12 disciples in Israel and then established another dozen in central or south America (who knows where? note there are no maps in the published versions of the Book of Mormon like there are in the published versions of the Bible)...so why no "restoration" to Jesus' supposed original 24 disciples?

Why are there only a "Quorum of the Twelve" that's based only in the U.S.? Why not either another dozen in either south/central America? Or, why not another dozen spread out all outside of the U.S.?

I guess because we have the benefit of intercontinental travel and satellite communications that wasn’t available to the apostles 2,000 years ago. :-)

[So God did a "Reduction in Force" eh? which is no "restoration" at all if the Mormons were correct about 24 disciples/apostles...yet another "proof" of no restoration]

Coco, from your paranoid rantings, indications are you not only have MDS, you have a rather acute case! I'll keep you in my prayers!

For others reading this, the following should put your minds at ease. :-)

11th Article of Faith
"We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may."

From the Book of Mormon
Alma 30
7 Now there was no law against a man’s belief; for it was strictly contrary to the commands of God that there should be a law which should bring men on to unequal grounds.
8 For thus saith the scripture: Choose ye this day, whom ye will serve.
9 Now if a man desired to serve God, it was his privilege; or rather, if he believed in God it was his privilege to serve him; but if he did not believe in him there was no law to punish him.
10 But if he murdered he was punished unto death; and if he robbed he was also punished; and if he stole he was also punished; and if he committed adultery he was also punished; yea, for all this wickedness they were punished.
11 For there was a law that men should be judged according to their crimes. Nevertheless, there was no law against a man’s belief; therefore, a man was punished only for the crimes which he had done; therefore all men were on equal grounds.

Don't hold it against Coco, MDS compulsions are quite strong in some cases...

Yes Mormonism can cause serious delusions. Waking up from those delusions is often shocking.

Two parts of "What Shocked You the Most as you Learned about Mormonism?

Most people who leave Mormonism become Godless. This is a result of learning that the God of Mormonism was based upon lies, and he is a shiftless, mind changing, powerless and ineffective God. Many struggle with the idea of sin, and the results of sin by flirting for the first time with alcohol, and/or sex. It is a direct result of trying to discover what is truth after being part of a mind-control group.

I hope it doesn't destroy YOU Don when you find out that your Church has been lying to you. It didn't kill me, it just made me more strong, and determined to keep other people from believing the lies and PR crap that the LDS Church puts forward to keep unsuspecting victims from finding the love of the true Christ.

You call it MDS...perhaps you describe it perfectly. Mormonism Derangement Syndrome. Mormonism will definitely cause derangement. I'm glad I'm finally in the recovery stage.
