Absolutely. And I respect that achievement.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHHA
At the moment, I’d prefer that it not be posted. I have no wish to give the source a platform.
Publishing the “Unabomber Manifesto” was useful, in that it helped to find out who the “Unabomber” was. Publishing this particular piece would serve no useful purpose that I know of.
Do you seriously think that 1 Timothy 2:5 or Isaiah 45:22 prohibit veneration of Mary, “doctor”?
Faith sharing bump.
I got one today too. Not as pithy, but the logorrhea on display there presented great opportunity for multiple lies, misrepresentations and strawmen.
Completely agree ... Present the truth, with humility and charity. If one must address another confession's or religion's beliefs, one simply must make sure to get them right. Attacking straw-men simply destroys one's own credibility.
Now that I know the score, I agree.
Slough it off to the bit bucket.
Allow me a question. If I ask you to pray for me, am I asking you to be my mediator? Is praying the same as mediation?
I LOVE your new tagline.
It’s in File 13.
I surmise from JA’s comment that it was all the same source.
I thunk that Irish was agreeing with a post charging that WE were saying Mary "elevated XP to Godhead," and was taking the charge as accurate.
So I think I was referring him to the original statement and then blathering on about theotokos.
What'd I do wrong?
I feel so left out! Shunned again. The PAIN!
I don't disagree with the dictionary definition. I disagree with the RCC which states time and again that Mary helps to reconciles sinners to God.
"But to administer the Sacrament of forgiveness and of reconciliation between mankind and God means to operate on the same wavelength, so to speak, as Marian Coredemption. In fact, Mary Most Holy, being united with the Redeemer"under Him and with Him," as Vatican II teaches (LG 56) reconciled humanity with God through the sacrificial offering consummated on Calvary; and after Calvary she continues unceasingly to reconcile man to God with her Mediation and Distribution of all the graces of Redemption. Consequently, she is proclaimed the Mother of universal reconciliation..."
Maybe it's a good sign you're uncomfortable with the teachings of the RCC. I encourage you to keep reading Scripture and learn the truth.
Many theologians assert that Mary's mediation also means that from the time of her Assumption she has personally cooperated with her Divine Son in communicating all of the graces that He has and continues to bestow upon mankind. As St. Bernard of Clairvaux said in a famous formulation: "God has willed that we should have nothing that did not pass through the hands of Mary." "...But the Immaculate Virgin participates in the Mediation of Christ in a unique and singular manner. That is why she is called the Mediatrix of All Grace. Our Lady cooperated profoundly as did no one else with the salvific work of the Savior; this association is the principle underlying her universal mediation. First, Mary is Mediatrix because by her humble and obedient fiat at the Annunciation, she became the Mother of Jesus Christ Who is the source of all grace. Secondly, the Blessed Virgin Mary associated herself in an intimate way with Christ's act of redemption, especially as she stood beneath the Cross on Golgotha. And thirdly, the Blessed Mother's great holiness makes her a powerful intercessor in obtaining graces for mankind.
Did Abraham benefit from something that passed through the hands of Mary?
Nope. He benefited as we all do -- by grace alone; by Christ alone before Mary.
Reflecting upon the universal mediation of our Blessed Mother with God encourages us to always go to Jesus through Mary to obtain the graces and blessings we need in our lives..." There is still another deeper stratum to the meaning of the Blessed Mother's mediation. According to Tradition, Our Lady possesses tremendous influence over her Divine Son. Therefore, some saints have described her as the treasurer or dispenser of grace. What they are saying is that God has entrusted His Mother to dispense and apportion the graces He gives to mankind. So that the Holy Virgin not only intercedes for us but, by the will of God, she has, so to speak, a say in distributing graces to her children. This assertion in no wise implies that Mary acts apart from Christ, let alone would contravene the will of God. Our Lady's mediation manifests the tenderness of her maternal heart.
"Her children???"
"Go to Jesus through Mary???"
Blasphemy upon blasphemy. Flee from it.
Maybe you should apologize for the ambiguous usage of the word "chick." Better writing skills could have avoided all this. :-)
Not enough coffee, apparently :>)
After all the folderall, I’ve lost track. Suffice it to say that my explanation to you expresses my belief that we all need to get along. We have differing opinions on certain beliefs and traditions, but we all love the same God.
