Conform or be cast out........
We don’t watch TV, use the Internet or see movies...
So that’s how you get into the film business!
Subdivisions </Pert’s voice>
Fundamentalism is fear triumphant.
The Smart Growth anthem.
Growing up it all seems so one-sided
Opinions all provided
The future pre-decided
Detached and subdivided
In the mass production zone
Nowhere is the dreamer or the misfit so alone
[Chorus:]
(Subdivisions)
In the high school halls
In the shopping malls
Conform or be cast out
(Subdivisions)
In the basement bars
In the backs of cars
Be cool or be cast out
Any escape might help to smooth the unattractive truth
But the suburbs have no charms to soothe the restless dreams of youth
Drawn like moths we drift into the city
The timeless old attraction
Cruising for the action
Lit up like a firefly
Just to feel the living night
Some will sell their dreams for small desires
Or lose the race to rats
Get caught in ticking traps
And start to dream of somewhere
To relax their restless flight
Somewhere out of a memory of lighted streets on quiet nights...
[Chorus:]
(Subdivisions)
In the high school halls
In the shopping malls
Conform or be cast out
(Subdivisions)
In the basement bars
In the backs of cars
Be cool or be cast out
Any escape might help to smooth the unattractive truth
But the suburbs have no charms to soothe the restless dreams of youth
Chemistry, Digital Man and the Weapon rocked ....
Now why does this sound so familiar and so . . . reasonable to me???
'Like the Mormons' "It's a bit like the Mormons. If you're excommunicated, likewise it would be reflected on your children," said Brandeis University professor Jonathon Sarna, an expert on American Jewish history.
I might be wrong, but something tells me he was actually thinking about the Amish when he said this.
It's called "religion," and I highly recommend it.
So thats how you get into the film business!
Yeah, and according to the "palaeocons," this is how you control the media!
Fundamentalism is true, old-time, unalloyed religion.
Shame on you.
I admire his devotion.
And I’ll fill in for him w/ Natalie. Yowza!
Not this one but thanks for asking.....
I accept none. That's how your faith controls behavior. ;)
FReepMail to be added or removed from this pro-Israel/Judaic/Russian Jewry ping list.
Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.
Whatever. Have fun in this world, it’s all you will know.
"Carolina Guitarman," right?
It's a good thing that back in 1763 a chemist named Heinrich von Sturzebraffen, while performing an experiment in a laboratory at Ingolstadt University, discovered "thou shalt not kill." Otherwise, we would not know this and it would have no foundation.
I must remark, however, that the love affair between atheists and non-fundamentalist religionists irks me a bit. So you despise people who actually believe their sacred texts and the the words of their rituals, but you respect hypocrites who but on ancient robes and intone ancient words which they don't believe in? I suppose you consider such hypocrisy simply the acting out of the intractable religious impulse and therefore a form of dishonesty more acceptable than the honesty of fundamentalists, however mistaken they may be? Hmmm.
There are atheists who actually respect religionists who really believe over those who don't bet get paid a nice cushy salary for pretending they do, but then, that requires a certain amount of integrity.
There are a few actors who keep shabbos...
On the one hand, I respect the sense of fundamentalism. On the other, this sense of “holing-up” does little to project their sense of God to the outside world.
