‘I’ll pile on with Galatians 3.’
Apparently on my side. You are exactly right.
Paul is essentially saying that the brother/sister that does the dietary/holy day observance is the weaker brother/sister and they should not be judged. Here's the text:
"Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand."
Don't judge them, but OTOH being a more religious person (i.e. dietary restrictions/holy day restrictions) is not something any Christian should aspire to.
commemorate, count-your-change! signed, check-your-spelling
Yup....Me too! I use the writings of the early fathers when they agree with scripture quite frequently. When they don't agree with scripture I show them to be the silliness they are. I think everyone who posts in the religious forum would agree that the writings of the early church fathers were not inspired.....so, like history....they must meet the test. You will not find me in the Sola Scriptura crowd.
please, another pathetic attempt to mock Christs church with your own spin on some early church writings...
Thanks for another pathetic attempt to discredit valid history.
exactly, the three legged stool is the mainstay of christianity..
the word
his church
sacred tradtion....
when you remove anyone of these, then the stool topples...
This is what he said: {Matthew 5:17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. To reiterate from some previous postings.....many folks are confused when it comes to this "Law" thing. The abolishment of the ordinances (Dogma/Man Made law) did not include the Ten commandments or the observance of God's Holy Festivals. They did away with what became known a "Talmudic Law". This was what was nailed to the cross!
So now.....we both.....as well as every else....know the answer.
I am not Jewish, the Angel of the Lord didn't pass over my house or the house of my ancestors, as far as I know. But Jesus was crucified for me and through his resurrection paid for my sin completely with no balance due.
Nor am I....but it wasn't only the Jews who had an Angel of death passing over their houses. It included all of the tribes of Israel!
The main problem as I see it is.......much of your tradition is not sacred.................in the slightest! [Mark 7:7]
‘many folks are confused when it comes to this “Law” thing. The abolishment of the ordinances (Dogma/Man Made law) did not include the Ten commandments or the observance of God’s Holy Festivals. They did away with what became known a “Talmudic Law”. This was what was nailed to the cross!’
Should be a ref in Scripture for that.
‘....but it wasn’t only the Jews who had an Angel of death passing over their houses. It included all of the tribes of Israel!’
As a gentile I am grafted onto the ‘House of Israel’, I’m not of it tribes. And it was the Hebrews’ homes.
‘They did away with what became known a Talmudic Law.’
They? Surely ‘they’ made this clear in the Bible.
‘.....many folks are confused when it comes to this “Law” thing.’
Not to be uncharitable, but I think you are one of them. Christ’s sacrifice was sufficient and it the only thing that is.
I'll pile on with Galatians 3.

Do you think you will become Rightous by ignoring the Holy Word of Elohim
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach Adonai
and instead celebrate and practice paganism? 21 Does this mean that the legal part of the Torah stands in opposition to Gods promises?
Heaven forbid!
The resurrection did not occur on a Sunday. All scriptures that have been used as proof texts for Sunday observance do not say "First day of the week". See post #11........
‘21 Does this mean that the legal part of the Torah stands in opposition to Gods promises?
Heaven forbid! ‘
And God’s promise was fulfilled in Christ.
Anyone, Jew or gentile, who placed the blood of the Lamb on their doorpost, A Jew who did not place the blood of the Lamb on his doorpost was killed. You do not have a clear reading of the Holy Word of Elohim.
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach Adonai
was passed over.
I don't see in the scripture where Jesus told anyone to celebrate or remember his ressurrection...
1Co 11:24 And when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
1Co 11:25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
1Co 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till he come.
What is to be remembered is the Crucifixion...
And according to Jesus, we must break the bread...No little cracker on your tongue...We are to break the bread to remember His broken body...
And the cup...The cup represents the New Testament...The liquid in the cup represents the blood that drained out of His body...The atoning blood...
The Passover is for Jews...We do not celbrate the Passover or the pagan Easter...
We did not become Jews when we were saved...We became Christians...Saved Jews are no longer Jews...They are Christians...
As often as we break the bread and drink from the cup, we do show the Lord's death...
Yah'shua is and will always be a Jew ! If you are blessed you are grafted in.WOW !
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua

I’m clear on it. I’m also clear that I wasn’t there in Egypt in captivity. My Paschal Lamb is Jesus. His death and resurrection are what paid for my salvation.
’ They did away with what became known a “Talmudic Law”. This was what was nailed to the cross!’
So if Talmudic Law is man’s law based on tradition and oral history, why would the Author of God’s Law bother with it? Why would the Creator of the world, the world’s Savior, fulfill only ‘The abolishment of the ordinances (Dogma/Man Made law)’? Or does Christ fulfill the prophecies of the OT and pay the price demanded by Mosaic law for transgression? Paraphrasing “by His stripes I am healed.”
I’ve never been under Talmudic law, if that is all that has been fulfilled, are you saying Christ’s death and resurrection does nothing for me?
At least that's what God told Paul to tell us...Is Paul wrong???
If you believe in the Passover Lamb,
b'SHEM Yah'shua
why do you celebrate the Pagan replacement for Passover?
Of course Jesus would celebrate Easter. It is only called “easter” in countries with a germanic, anglo-saxon language. Elsewhere it’s called passover (in one form or another.)
So, the question is really this: “Would Jesus approve of Christians remembering His final Passover week and resurrection?”
The answer is a resounding “YES!”
