I don’t think there are a LOT of immigrants in Syracuse. They have some of the Lost Boys there, Koreans, who have established a Methodist church there, but I don’t see a lot of Latin Americans (read Mexicans) coming there. None in the smaller communities either. That might explain the school closings, which are many, but that doesn’t explain all the churches that are closing down there and all around our area. Small churches don’t have a chance anymore.
Sure, but the Church would only be making it official; their actions have already severed them from the sacraments. Besides, fat chance that liberal bishops will be taking any action at all. Can you really see the Boston Archdiocese doing anything to cross St. Teddy the Hutt? They’d sooner excommunicate anyone whom proposed the idea!
