He certainly is. Fred Thompson was my first choice but the more I observed Romney the more I'm thinking he's my number one for 2012.

Having the 'lingo' doesn't cut it for one in the know. And that too, reaks of 'pleading' - "I'm like you, I'm like you". I don't need the link. Reading just a tad of the posts is enough. My time is precious and don't use it for propaganda - I enjoy reading about My Jesus in God's Word. And not about a religion - and moreso, one tainted with Joe Smith.

Colo, I won’t answer your post line for line, I guess you are a better debater than I, at least have more time. I don’t. Suffice it to say, that I do believe there was a falling away. This was not a rejection by God to man, but man rejecting God. And I think John the Revelator said it best when he wrote in:

Revelations 13: 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Verse nine makes my point as well. “If any man have an ear, let him hear.”

John wouldn’t say the beast overcame the saints if he didn’t overcome the saints.

I know you don’t agree with me, and nothing either of us will say will change that, but time is not a commodity I have to go back and forth like this. Frankly, I don’t know how some of you guys do it! I am truly amazed. For now, we will stand in disagreement, but I do wish you the best in your hope in Christ. I know from your posts that you are indeed genuine and sincere in that.

Right, but it is seldom used. Come to any Gospel Doctrine class on a Sunday and prove me wrong.

We have the KJV of the bible, and we also have the BOM, which contains other prophecies concerning Christ and the tribes of Israel that you are referring to.

Nephi secured the “Plates of Brass” by way of commandment while he was in Jerusalem, in order that his people would have the scriptures (up to and including the reign of Zedekiah and the Prophet Jeremiah) The parts you are referring too are also included in the BOM, as well as other prophets not mentioned in the Old Testament. (Zenos, Zenock, Neum, etc.) I believe one day these records will come to light. God loves all his children in all periods of time. He has spoken with man before, and will speak to man again.

I'd have to disagree with this. I believe its more important for them that you become a notch in their leatherbound King James for the sake of individual conquest. I don't believe their primary motive is for you to benefit by what they believe of the Christ. That's clear from the behavior exibited daily on these threads.

Hello fellow LDS FReepers.

I know I’m in no position to say any of this, each of are different in our approaches, and especially considering my past posting history, but I am truly trying to turn over a new leaf. I’ve read through several of these back and forth posts, many directed at me, and will not be able to finish this thread due to lack of time, but I wanted to leave you all with what I came across this week in the book of Timothy.

I think it speaks directly to what we see on each and every one of these Anti-Mormon threads. Forgive me for being presumptuous, but it really hit home, and I thought I’d share it.

2 Timothy 2:

21 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves;

In fact, I am also changing my tagline to reflect verse 16 as well. I think FR would me a much better place if we would all heed these words.

Likely the motives that you paint are true, but I’m willing to extend an olive branch. I don’t think we’re all that different. We both have strong faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ. He may think I’m blasphemous and heretical in my doctrinal understanding of the same, but we’re all brothers after all.

Thanks for seeing past all the garbage in an independent sort of way.
