“A statement of fact is not a personal attack,”
That isn’t what you did. Name-calling IS a personal attack. Derogatory opinions about another poster are personal attacks. You quote NO FACT in the attack of yours I quoted, you did use a denigrative name and opinions to demean another poster. I suggest you refrain from such conduct.
You are lying. You stated exactly what I said you stated. In fact, you came out and PLAINLY stated it, once again, at post #414:
~”You are saying, and have said, accepting the FULL gospel (as you proffered) would REQUIRE accepting Joseph Smith as a prophet.”~
That is true, that is what I’m saying. We’re finally making progress.
~”This takes away not only from the perfection of Christ and His work, but adds onto the Gospel of Christ, which contradicts the admonitions of Scripture.”~
Here’s the disconnect from which we’re suffering: We are discussing LDS theology here. And according to that theology, Joseph Smith, by virtue of the work he did, is part and parcel TO the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He preached it, he taught it.
Accepting the fullness of the Gospel, according to LDS doctrine (the subject we’re discussing) requires acceptance of its teacher as genuine.
It amazes me that people here are having such a difficult time linking the two concepts. You don’t have to accept it to see where we’re coming from. Instead, you try to make up for the fact that you can’t seem to get it by claiming that we’re trying to “add” to the Gospel.
I read your post. The faux apology was just that.
I would presume that you are of the same mind regarding your own faith.
Actually, since I don't hold the priesthood that makes one superior to others, I don't feel the need to "eschew all other religious denominations" as "inferior". I am perfectly content with Christians on the whole, which is hardly what you just repeated.
You, on the other hand, are obsessed with demonstrating the error of my ways.
Actually, only the outright lies that can be easily proven with links and your own words.
I post perhaps, 3 or 4 replies to you a month, if that...hardly an obsession.
I proclaim boldly that the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ lies in the LDS Church, and nowhere else. You are free to take insult if you like, but there is no comparison between that simple declaration and the tactics of the anti-Mormon to smear, misrepresent, and distort my faith.
Truth seems to hurt, in your case. Most of what you call distortions and misrepresentations is linked to sources, many of whom are official LDS sources.
~”A belief found NO WHERE in Christendom.”~
Umm... I believe we’re discussing LDS theology here? It’s not found in mainstream Christendom; it is found, however, among Latter-Day Saints, who are Christians.
You have -AGAIN- stripped the quote of context.
Typical anti-Mormon behavior.
This discussion is going nowhere. It’s over.
I stand by the heresies thing. You do? Really? And yet you weave and bob and wordwarble rather than simply enumerate the heresies you claim exist in Christendom proper. Odd how that works.
Get your facts straight OMM...I haven't been "on the rolls" for well over 40 years, honorably excommunicated for apostasy, and have had a Christian re-baptism since.
Excuse me. I thought we were discussing the SCRIPTURES here, Christ's Word, not Joseph Smith's words, ratherr, the Bible and what IT says is true.
I have not taken it out of context. You are plainly stating that UNLESS YOU ACCEPT JOSEPH SMITH, you are NOT SAVED.
Oops! I see the censoring HAS begun.
Actually, you are misquoting, read LYING about what I said. Christianity is my religion.
Well, must be another one of you mormon haters. I apologize for a mistake of fact. Sorry you are an apostate.
Its not found in mainstream Christendom; it is found, however, among Latter-Day Saints,And ONLY among the 4 million of them, alone in the world.
...Latter-Day Saints, who are Christians. Not according to the largest and oldest organized Church in Christendom. Ditto many other mainstream Christian communities. Again, calling a sheep a goat doesn't change the facts.
I’m not, rather I’m happy to have escaped the darkness.
“You have -AGAIN- stripped the quote of context.”
No he hasn’t. Your refusal to accept the common and accepted meaning of words makes any exchange with you strained, at best. Add to that your willingness to denigrate others and it becomes useless other than as an exercise to expose the games being played here.
Doin good. Sounds like you’re ok too. lol.
You know, we believe in agency and that you have to work out your own salvation with The Lord on your knees. I certainly am not in any position to say you have not. Of course, neither are you in any position to say I have not either.
