They have Bishops that have done the same; his behavior isn't shocking by ECUSA standards.
Traditional Anglican ping, continued in memory of its founder Arlin Adams.
FReepmail Huber or sionnsar if you want on or off this moderately high-volume ping list (sometimes 3-9 pings/day).
This list is pinged by Huber and sionnsar.

Speak the truth in love. Eph 4:15
You can’t make this stuff up...Well maybe you can...It actually sounds like some bit Rush’s people would come up with.
i just hope he doesnt get in any fights with other seminarians, i wouldnt want them to step outside and exchange blows.
which Episcopal Diocesan bishop signed off on this travesty - NY or NJ?
Maybe it’s a taste of what’s to come: flaming libs openly and proudly infiltrating mainstream religions.
“Father McGreevey, is that an aspergillum in your pocket or are you happy to see me?”
They might even come to fisticuffs.
How about baptisms using “inclusive” bathhouses?
You guys!!!!
Actually, the interesting thing to watch for will be just how quickly they “fast-track” him through seminary in order to create a new “poster-boy”...
If I was a betting Priest I’d say no more than two years until he’s “ordained”.
So, how long until he makes bishop?
No bishop has signed off on it, at least not yet.
One can enter into a course of study (including for an M. Div.) without being a candidate for holy orders. One of the members of my parish got his M. Div. last year and has no intention of pursuing ordination.
In order for someone to pursue ordination in the Episcopal Church they have to first go though a discernment process within their parish; that process is not something that’s just an hour meeting and a signature, it takes some time. The Vestry of the Parish and it’s Rector or Vicar (there’s a difference) have to then vote to recommend the candidate to the Bishop. There’s another discernment process, and then the Bishop decides to sign off. Or, not.
What would be interesting here is to find out if the ex-Governor is now considered a member in good standing in an Episcopal parish anywhere, and then find out if he has entered the discernment process there. Where does he live? Is he going to church regularly there?
and hopefully that discernment process doesn’t go forward unless he has demonstrated relationship with the parish (has he served the people and the institution) and above all what is his voiced relationship with our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
“.....and above all what is his voiced relationship with our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.”
or is that a concern in The Episcopal Church that has strayed so far from its traditional teachings..
The Episcopal Church has become a non-Christian cult.
