I take it you would have sided with Summer and Stevens during Reconstruction.
All federal involvement does is screw things up. I don’t buy the idea of national will, or even national culture, so, saying that the federal government has business going into the Utah Desert and busting up people who are not bothering anybody, yeah, I find a problem with that.
Next, I suppose the federal government should begin an all out war on prostitution, especially considering the war against drug use has worked out so well.
Sheesh, troll bigot, I always thought Romney's first name was Willard and now I find out it's Mormon.
Yikes, I suppose I better start calling Joe Lieberman, Jew Joe Lieberman now huh?
It is a well established trend by Liberal posters to join this site and straight away start posting divisive articles against Republican candidates, just informing you about it.

Hopefully, we’ll be spared endurance of a Rudy McRomney administration.
If proponents of homosexual “marriage” prevail, can polygamy, polyandry, legally-sanctioned incest, bestiality, pedophilia, necrophilia and any other perversion of the natural order be far behind? That legal precedent would make most of them almost inevitable.
I am a conservative theologically and politically.
I have no liberal postulates whatsoever.
I am pro-life, anti-homosexual practice, pro-prayer in schools, pro-biblical morality, pro-Judeo-Christian heritage, pro-biblical understanding of creation, pro-evangelical.
I am a Republican since Day One. I post on Republican sites such as Republican and Proud, being there for several years now. I post on other Republican-favorable sites such as The Conservative Voice, Conservative Posts, American Daily, and so forth.
No liberal site would post my submissions.
I have written thousands of articles for only conservative religious and political magazines, having authored same for nearly half a century. No liberal publication accepts my submissions for periodical publication.
Does that help you assess me or should I just give up for being ‘new’?
Shallow or what? Your post, that is.
I stopped reading as soon as I read this sentence. Why is Romney being asked to do something that every other President since the LDS banned polygamy has refused to do? Why didn't all the professed Christians take action? Where was Roosevelt? Truman? Eisenhower? Kennedy? Nixon? Ford? Carter? Reagan? Bush? Clinton? Bush?
It's just another worthless straw man argument with the brain power of a scarecrow, no more significant in the big picture than a candidate's membership in Skull & Bones. Grow the heck up, people!
Thank you. I never intend my posts or replies to be “personal.”
If you are such a conservative, can you post some articles that you have written on conservative sites.
Your confusion and rather ignorance of the constitution when it come to state and federal issues makes one doubt about your conservativeness and your understanding and position on the issues mentioned.
And..., (in not so breaking news), there are countless "family units?" of the multiple male-one female and multiple female-one male variety in every community (no particular religious affiliation, just an "arrangement" acceptable (at some level) to the participants!
Substitute animals in some fringe cases as well!
Get a grip, there exist countless "weird" human practices in existence now (just as there always have been!)
Ok, then, so, how do you view Catholics?
It’s an honest question since you went on the evangelical tangent. While were at it, your views on Mardi Gras, there are 5 southern states where it is celebrated as a holiday, should it be celebrated as a holiday?
Another question, if the free market shows there is a demand for gambling facilities in an area, should an entrepeneur be permitted to open said gambling facility to meet market demand, or should he be prohibited from doing it?
Should Nevada be allowed to continue their practice towards certain victimless “crimes”, or should they be required to adhere to a certain national moral standard?
Because there are varying degrees of what one considers conservative and what one considers liberal. I have long considered Roy Moore a liberal because of his willingness to restrict business, and his willingness to allow the government to dictate how people live their personal lives, it’s not a position held by many people, but I personally believe it is an accurate one. Your opinion of this?
I’ll invite you to go to American Daily, The Conservative Voice, Conservative Posts, Magic City Morning Star, Republican and Proud, Conservative Crusader, Michnews, The Post Chronicle, ArriveNet, Faith Freedom International, TruthInConviction, NewsByUs, and others.
There you will find my posts / articles in abudance. Check out the archives and so forth.
Google my name and find myriads of articles over years.
Enjoy!

I'd really like to hear what your real problem is with Romney?
Is it his religious beliefs or his membership in The LDS Church that doesn't pass muster with your particular version of snake chuckin'?
I fail to see how a polygamy law can be enforced. Laws against involuntary confinement and abuse of spouses and children should be enforced with all swiftness possible, but if a man is legally married to one woman and has repeated relations with another, then in the eyes of the law, he has committed adultery. Since we no longer punish adultery, then how do we punish polygamy?
Are you series? "Willard Mitt Romney"? The poor man!
dirtboy, while I agree with your premise that marriage and the regulation of such, including any allegations of child abuse should be handled at a State level, many of the polygamous compounds are situated on State borders so that they can hop back and forth across borders and escape enforcement.
Excellent point.
Eliminating welfare would cut down on this problem, just as it would help reduce the number of non-"polygamous" mothers and children not supported by a wage-earner.
And, like I said, if they cross state borders, that makes it a federal matter.
