It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it...
You know, I think there was this Jesus guy, who did all sorts of miracles. He walked on water, he multiplied Loaves and Fishes, He raised the dead, He was Transfigured, and He Himself Rose from the Dead. But then, I guess that stuffs just for the Jews, I missed the disclaimer on the Gospels, Jews Only.
First remove the log from your own eye.
That would not end well so I recommend you leave the Catholic threads alone and post on some other subjects to avoid becoming a "Johnny one note."
How about we try some bible logic...
1Co 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not:
And again, who are the signs for???
1Co 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
1Co 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
The signs are for the Jews...Tongues are a sign for the Jews...
Christians can't prophesy.
1Co 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
Prophesying is not a sign...Prophesying is for Christians...
Christians can't teach.
Of course Christians can teach...Never said they couldn't...
Christians can't heal. Going against St. Paul there.
When was the last time in scripture Paul healed anyone??? Why couldn't Paul heal himself??? Because healing again, is a sign...
But then again, you don't seem to have a problem creating your own brand of Iscoolianity.
In the original Greek, that means Biblical Christianity...
Oh, here it is...It's right there in your bible...
Joh 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
Don't those trained priests teach you guys any of this at your church???
"What bad man are you referring to?"
It's a statement of a principle, not a reference to a specific person.
"And of course, you have scripture to back that up?"
I am not in thrall to the sola scriptura fallacy.
Oh, so only Jews can be saved. Of course, I missed that. Geesh, thanks Johnny One Note, you are so helpful.
Apparently that is part of our problem, lol.
Well, it's your call but I am only defending the word of God and his plan of salvation and the topic is (let's attack) Sola Scripture...
Some of the Catholics fervently defend their faith as well...As as you can notice, there's no shortage of Catholics happy to prove me (and the bible) wrong...
And I'm not a Johnny One Note...My debate covers topics from one end of the bible to the other...
But thanks anyway for being civil about it...
My mistake...I was referring to the wrong thread and I was even wrong about the topic on that thread...
Thanks...Have a nice day :)
The only tongue I want is Latin!!!
