Yeah, I know how that is! Unfortunately, computer screens do take their toll and when you get older than 55 49, your eyes start to go a bit.

I understand that some folks can adjust to them well, and others have a heck of a time. A man at work is always tilting his head back a bit so he can see out of the bottom portion. I don't think they are supposed to work that way. He appears as if he has a "William F. Buckley" tic.

Well it's settled then! No way to argue with the Simpsons!

What's a nice lady like you doing on a thread like this?

She usually shows up to let me know when I'm being too mean to the Catholic bashers!

Joking aside, the average Lasik surgeon has now worked on upwards of thousands (perhaps tens of thousands) of cases. The technology is so perfected now that if I had the chance, I'd have it done. It is now a matter of cost more than anything.

I still prefer glasses for other reasons. Don't know how often I've had something come flying at my eyes only to be caught by a lens! If you have Lasik surgery and still have to wear "safety glasses," what's the point?

The Catholic Church never claimed to be the true church of the Bible. The Catholic Church IS the church established by Jesus Christ. Why would anyone leave the Church Jesus personally established?

I would tend to agree with you and obviously they have never been accepted as Canonical. That being said, why did Diego1618 reference them as "proof" that the Blessed Virgin Mary had other children (post #551)?

I dunno and I'm certainly not the one to ask. :-)

BTW, I might have used "authentic" rather than your choice of "Canonical".

I heartily concur that it is not certain just what Spam is. It is protein (I think). I once heard how they made it and the shock obliterated those neurons from my memory.

I love Spam. But then, I'm a child of WWII.

Some of the things mentioned in the article reminds me of the old days when a newbie would jump into the Neverending Story thread. LOL!

Yah, I remember we would beat up some of them pretty bad. Some who survived became worthwhile contributors while the others just faded away.

My husband has the graduated bifocals. He likes 'em. It takes a little while to get used to them, because there's no clear line of demarcation.

He has a set of plain glasses for driving, bifocals of any kind can really cross you up while driving.

I don't think I could, either, and I'm probably a lot shorter than you are!

13 months old. He's had his head shaved (while I was out!) and looks like a thug now, just like his brothers.

Thanks, everyone, for the bifocals advice. My mother says I should get no-line lenses, so I think I probably will. She's been wearing them for a long time.
