This is kind of funny, poor guy, he's so ill informed.
The beloved disciple, John, the last of the New Testament writers, wrote his Gospel in the 90's. John was an eyewitness to the events of the Last Supper (Jn 6:30-68).
Jn 6:53-56
Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him."

Good call, I was overly general. Anyone who says they're filled with the Holy Spirit and hence have no need of the Sacraments Jesus himself ordained is presumptuous. Better?
To: DarkSavant
I really don't know how it can get any more clear than this:
Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you. (John 6:54)
Either our Lord meant what He said and we must obey Him or He lied to us. If we believe He lied to us, then this entire discussion is useless. However, because we know that He did not lie, then we must accept that to have life we must eat His Flesh and drink His Blook.

"Eats: the verb used in these verses is not the classical Greek verb used of human eating, but that of animal eating: 'munch', 'gnaw.' " (New American Bible footnotes to John 6:54)
pretty clear to me.

I confess I didn't read the article, or 99% of the posts. Then I skipped to this last page. :)

So, it is even a clearer reference to the consumption of flesh in what the Jews would have deemed a "cannibalistic" manner.

While I've got your attention, what do you think about no-line bifocals? The Undead Thread failed to reach a consensus, so I'm seeking other opinions.
