Yeah, next thing you know, Her Eminence will have us out there milking Bulls [sp.]!
You have no idea.
That's what you get for putting skimmed dog's milk in your marmot-poop coffee!
How many times do I have to tell ya, use WHOLE dog's milk!
Yep. That pretty well sums it up.
It is given unto man once to die, and after this, the judgment.
All of that is well and good. She was mummified. The article agreed with that. I have no problem with some kind of natural mummification going on. I've seen a few documentaries on such things taking place.
It also said they had to put a wax mask on her because of blackening skin and sunken eyes and nose.
That's what it said.
It is unusual. It is not a miracle.
How in the world do you milk a magnesia?
I've won the award before.
BTW, I disagree.
What's unusual is putting a wax mask on a dead lady.
Ask, and it shall be received. Seek, and it shall be found...
Very impressive!
Now if you can get the entire manger scene in bobblehead, I'm confident our catholic compadres will help us petition the pope to have you declared a saint.
Well, I am not surprised to read you think the Devil can perform miracles
I think some people are offended by merchandising. I can't say I blame them. I would find merchandising of images of Jesus Christ pretty offensive. If the RCC holds her in such high regard yet merchandises images of her, I have a hard time reconciling those two things.
You ignored my response.
If one follows the Church's teaching, the Blessed Virgin Mary was conceived in an immaculate state, thus negating any need to be born again.
Now, I am well aware that you totally disagree with Church dogma on the Immaculate Conception; but, by the same token, you need to be aware that for those of us who do follow Church doctrine, what you say is irrelevant in regards to the Blessed Mother.
So, now that you have my response, I will ask again, what about in Genesis, when emnity is placed between the devil and his seed and the woman and her Seed, can we agree that if the woman's Seed is Jesus Christ that the woman is Mary?
In the Book of Revelation, it points out that the Dragon is behind the Beast.
pjr12345 is correct in that regard.
The implication of Jesus' talking about the effects of Satan having a divided house should apply here, too. One shouldn't expect to see Satan healing or casting out demons.
Additionally, God is Creator and no other. One would expect creative acts (water to wine? bread ex nihilo for feeding a crowd?) to be non-duplicatable.
I haven't studied it, but it's possible there's a distinction that should be made between "signs" and "miracles."
At a minimum, we should be distinguishing between "ex nihilo acts" and "manipulative acts."
That is a tricky passage to translate from Hebrew and Greek. The part about "you/he shall crush your head" is something that has been argued about since at least Augustine's time, and continues till this day.
So the person referred to in that passage is either Jesus or Mary, and many of the older translations imply a male. Though quite a few female or gender non specific.
It's not me... it's the Bible!
