Prayers for Matthew and his family during this uncertain time. May God lift the burden of worry from their hearts, instilling in them His Faith, Courage and Strength. May He bless and guide the hands that will care for this young man, all the way through surgery and recovery. May God restore this boy's health fully and make his body whole and strong.

Prayers up for Matthew! Almighty God, please guide Matthew's medical team that they may help in his healing and make him whole. Please give strength to Matthew's family, and to Matthew. You know their needs better than I, and in faith I ask that you attend to them in Jesus' Holy Name, Amen.

May God watch over Matthew and guide those who care for him. May He comfort his family and give them peace and strength. May He restore Matthew to health in His service, in Jesus name.

UPDATE

From Matthew's Mom:

"Matthew has a few less tubes in him than he did this morning and they were preping him for a very "short walk". His biggest complaint is wanting to drink. He informed his mother tonight that he is planning on NEVER getting sick again. She concurs. He is being prayed for world-wide ,spoiled as much as possible and I believe has "captured the hearts" of every nurse in his unit. Our God is awesome and the long story of how this ALL unfolded weekend is more testimony to His faithfulness (from Matthew's father "annoying" the MD office with his constant calls to the wisdom and compassion of the ER staff at Chandler Regional). There are still struggles but as the Casting Crown song goes - also --- "praising Him in the storm". Thank you!"

Additional note from Jeff Chandler:

Matthew is the little brother of Sarah, who is the subject of this post: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/1771223/posts.

Prayers going up!

Father hold Matthew in the palm of your hand, protecting him and guiding his parents and the doctors. Lord, we know you are the Healer. Touch this little boy, heal his body, and restore him. Strengthen his parents, and give them courage and peace. Help them to walk by faith and not by sight, Lord. May your glory be shown in Matthew's life with the outcome of this concern. Keep your guardian and warring angels round about him protecting him. Bless him with health, strength and joy that know no measure!! May all around him see YOU in this child.

UPDATE

From Matthew's Mom:

Matthew was much more responsive today. The fever was gone today. He even "told me off" today when I said "time for another walk" -trying to make it sound like the most wonderful thing in the world :-0 He is sitting up - coloring and playing Pokeman cards. He itches, wants to go home and is wondering when he will feel all better. Tomorrow they are suppose to remove the catheter. (another tube out of the way!) It looks like he will be there at least until Saturday and the MD said a 3-6 week recovery.

My prayers for your Matthew that he suffer little with this surgery ... not comfortable, believe me.

My godson Matthew was hit by a hit and run driver at the age of two and now in his later 40s is lacking a kidney and has scars on his head and ears and elsewhere. He made it through his toughness and our prayers.

May God keep his parents in the right mode to know how and when to pour on the comfort or the more stern ;~) stuff he'll be needing.
