"Greece is in the EU, isn't it? So it's possible we could buy the "Fox in Socks" module in Greek."
Our children have no time for such frippery! They spend their hours in prayer, theological study and preparing revenge on the Turks! (I could maybe find you something about revenge on Turks)
Well gosh! Pat and James wouldn't have time for "Fox in Socks," either, if we had Turks to clobber. We could go after the Methodists, but it wouldn't really be satisfying ... they're so NICE.
We had Turks at Thanksgiving dinner, 1994. It was cool :-). (And it's my bedtime ...)
Thank you, I read a lot of the threads but I don't usually respond.
"We had Turks at Thanksgiving dinner"
We eat Turks too...when we can get them. They used to be quite common in Greece but not so much anymore. I had an ancestor whose nom du guerre was "O Turkofagos", the Turk Eater!
Alex. I have read Scott Hahn's book. The author of the article takes much out of context and makes it appear that Scott was a flake who just dabbled in being
Presbyterian. (sp) I can assure you the book gives no such indication. Scott Hahn did not come to believe in Catholicism easily. He struggled with his growing belief that the Catholic Church holds the fullness of truth.
He is also very clear about the debt he owes to his years as a Presbyterian (sp) especially how it was responsible for his learning to love Scripture. It was this love of Scripture that lead to his conversion.
This man comes off as angry and bitter.
If he has so many questions about Hahn - why not personally ask him?
He is assuming he understands Scott's mind and motivations without taking him at his word?
Scott Hahn has written extensively about his frame of mind, and what motivated him.
If any misunderstanding is left, I'm sure he would answer questions this man has for him.
No..this is just a hit piece written out of bitterness.
ROTFL!

what a beautiful story, sister
I was thinking the same thing. It's a Catholic all-star thread. Nice to see them all come to the defense of Dr. Hahn. He's done a commendable job bringing a greater appreciation of scripture to Catholics.
Eck vs. Luther bump :)
Our wonderful Bishop allowed our Indult community to have a Requiem Mass tonight for All Souls Day. It was beautiful, nine altar boys, three of them were very young and just adorable and a great choir. Good sermon about the lost and helpless souls in purgatory and our just and merciful God.
Half the time I had chills running up my spine and tears running down my cheeks while my heart was warm and smiling. Brought back wonderful memories of long ago.
And just to stay on topic,Scott Hahn is an excellent writer and great speaker.
yeah, I'm thinking someone's book sales can't compete with the good doctor.
I have only heard Positive about Scott Hahn
Didn't read the article....
Read the article. Seriously. You'll learn from it ... You'll also learn from the responses.
The article itself is a fine example of why our esteemed RM keeps saying "Address the issues. Don' make it personal" ... and of what happens when folks flagrantly disregard such advice.
My Dad used to tell me "son, nothing is useless. It can always serve as a bad example." With every passing day, I further appreciate the old man's wisdom.
I think you should post MORE.
