You missed my point. But thanks for playing.
Carry on.
But some folks need to get tougher skins on their inner emotional child, if one is to discuss "True or False, Black or White" about anything.
= = = =
Have often felt the same way as my discourse habits come from intense group process training and experience--3,000+ hours of such.
HOWEVER, JimRob has few REALLY STRONG edicts, preferences, values for us and our behavior hereon.
HE HAS PROVIDED A SUPER WONDERFUL FORUM FOR ALL MANNER OF GREAT 'DIALOGUES.'
If it "ONLY" TICKLED HIS FANCY as a slight to significant preference for us to be more Christlike in graciousness, winsomeness, kindness . . . THAT SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT REASON for us to comply given all the givens and all Jim's benefits to us hereon.
I still think that fitting satire against worthy-begging-for-it-target ideas and positions has a place.
However, I am increasingly trying strongly with a firm grip on the scruff of my neck to insist that my fingers do their earnest best to be Christ-like charitable toward persons hereon even when I think their positions are utterly idiotic and clueless.
Of course we could also appeal to Scripture exhorting such between the bretheren but such Scripture rarely has much impact on such . . . exchanges . . . sadly.
To be against Zionism is not to be anti-Semetic. If that were so, many Jews would be anti-Semetic and that makes no sense. There is a future for the nation of Isreal, as one of the 70 nations and that's all.
My point exactly X. Just because the "evidence" states it one way today doesn't mean tomorrow they won't find something that throws it out the window.
If the church believed for 1900 years that Christians were grafted in, they must have had some reasonable evidence for dating Revelation. While I do believe our Catholic friends have developed some "interesting" theology throughout the centuries, there is usually some basis for why they formulated what they did. I can't believe they would believe something for 1900 years that wasn't rooted in historical information or tradition.
BTW-I have my own very strange views of the earth that I don't dare share with anyone for fear of being the first person in the 21st century to be burned at the stake.
Dispensationalists are really futurist oddballs in that their "future" doesn't actually begin until after the secret pretrib rapture.
= = = =
Not at all. Instead of futurist oddballs, we are merely futurist observers of basic Scriptural facts. Then we match such up with historical and current geopolitical stuff. Not at all oddball. Perfectly congruent with evidence and observations.

in that their "future" doesn't actually begin until after the secret pretrib rapture.
= = = = =
Nonsense. Many of us are not at all certain when THE RAPTURE will occur. And, the Biblical birth pangs begin considerably before that. And, predictably, the return of Israel to the Covenant lands occurs considerably before that. 1948 comes to mind.
It seems that any real interpretation of the scripture would at least insist that one must read each passage and see what it has to say.

ON FR??? ON THE RELIGION forum? ?? ??
Oh, you're starting a new career as a stand-up finger commedian?

Though that's certainly my bias, as well. Great habit and practice regardless of how antitraditionalist it is hereon. LOL.
Lol!
You need to share them with alamo-girl. She is "girl" and not "grilL" so you're not likely to be burned. She is also the most astute Christian on the creation/evolution threads with ideas that'll knock your socks off (and maybe get her burned in some churches.)
:>)
lol, me too and I have thought about it a lot. I could go over to an evo thread and post and cause them no end of conster-nation and indig-nation, maybe 70 nations in all.
thanks for the ping
Amen! A real reading of the history of Zionism would startle many here who think they are following God's mandate.
It's politics.
(Not that there's anything wrong with that.)
Clear as mud, but I enjoyed it.
There is a future for the nation of Isreal, as one of the 70 nations and that's all.

xzins, PM, buggman, . . . I wonder how many Scriptures could be counted up proving that a false assumption, inference, extrapolation??? Even off thread would be worth doing, I think.
That would be a lot of scripture to sort through
It's politics
= = = =
As has been the divisions into so many fractured portions of His Body.
Usually based on psychological ego needs of the key political figures at the time. Not very admirable, that.
Yet, God has used it to insure that various significant facets of the diamond don't get trampled terminally in the dust.
True. A great lot.
I wonder if it's been done before? Probably.
That's all I conceded, depending on what you mean by "acceptable". It's not acceptablet to me personally. I do not find "considerable evidence" for the AD90s date. Based on fallible information and insight I find the AD90s date as inferior and the AD60s date as superior.
That does not mean I would burn you at the stake for holding to the AD90s view (which seems to be what some of you folks have in mind for the AD60s crowd). So in that sense it is an acceptable one.
Thank you for that entire post. It is an excellent exhortation!
Only if you start singing "Sugar, honey, honey" OR "Hey, Paula"
Then it's burned at the stake with still green wood.
A real reading of the history of Zionism The Church would startle many here who think they are following God's mandate. It's politics.
