I've found this too an incredible block to receiving the Gospel: if we are 'genuinely nice guys' in ourselves, why would we need a Savior? The Holy Spirit must do His unseen powerful work to convict of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment before the Gospel can be received in all its glory and grace. May it be so here.
My younger brother shows the greatest signs of opening to Christ. He's a recent father and I've noticed changes in him. He used to lean towards objectivism and its veneration of the self and self-interest, but now his heart seems to have grown. He loves being a father and I hope he will with gratitude receive the grace and mercy of the greatest father of all.

I was just reading in Romans this morning:
For if by the one mans offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. Therefore, as through one mans offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Mans righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
I am amazed at the human power of denial of reality that any person could witness the birth of child and still deny God and refuse the wonderful gift of the knowledge of Him in the face of Christ. But there it is. May your brother see in all aspects of his parenthood the image of God our Father that men must otherwise actively deny in order to avoid confessing. Lord grant him a willing spirit to taste and see that the Lord is Good, amen. That wonderful verse occurs to me:
If you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,May our Lord grant your brother the circumstances that will bring him to the place of asking, for everyone who asks receives, amen.
how much more will your Father in Heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.
God bless you, .30.
There have been many resurrection stories over the centuries.
