So which John do you follow?

I don't follow anyone. Not John MacArthur, Billy Graham or the Pope. People are fallible. They make mistakes and you'll be sorely disappointed if you place your faith and trust in them including this author.

Which view of Jack Hayford should I select based upon John MacArthur's testimony??? It is my feeling that if I'm truly interested, I will read Jack Hayford's works for myself and draw my own conclusions. Typically, I don't trust anything outside of what is written in the word of God, as cynical as that may sound.

Is JM vacillating? As a matter of principle and scripture it is NOT my place to judge anyone. People make mistakes and what someone believed 5 years ago can be a whole lot different than what they believe today. I know that's true with me. It was true with Augustine. It was true with the Apostle Paul. It's most likely is true with JM. I can only point out to people where I believe them to be in error but at the end of the day, we all make many mistakes (James 3:2).

I represented an Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church and had to speak at one of their evening services. At the close of the service there was an altar call and baptism for all that came forward. I was late for another meeting and tried to leave and was told by the "bouncers" at the door, "no one leaves until the altar call and the baptisms were over". They were bigger than me so I figured it was the Lord giving me wisdom for the moment.

LOL!!!

I remember my wife and I going into a "high-flying" Pentacostal church one time. People were being "slain in the spirit" all around us. We quietly got up to leave and had about 5-7 Pentacostal chasing us to the car, wishing to lay hands on us.

This is personal with you isn't it.

Babe, quite dreaming.

And just deal with the fact that JM isn't perfect.

In my opinion, his biggest problem is that he has no authority. That's why he goes off on these tangents and so often says things that contradict what he has said before.

Another example of his spoken and written contradiction include his claim that he rejects psychology. (In the case of the student at Master's that killed himself.)But then he associates, sells and pushes the theories of so called christian psychology.

You really are an enemy of John MacArthur despite your claims that he was lying when he said he had enemies out there.

Could you try and build a better strawman next time?

You seem to be of the opinion that one cant lose thier salvation....Im curious how you come to that conclusion

I don't believe that. The AOG believes that.

In my opinion, his biggest problem is that he has no authority.

How can you say that when:

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation has announced 12 grants totaling more than $3.6 million for biodiversity conservation work in the Eastern Himalaya, which stretches nearly 1,000 miles from Nepal to Yunnan Province in China.

Richard Harris, who sang MacArthur Park was from the British Isles.

The Beatles are British.

The evidence is stacked against you and your case crumbles.

Indeed it is as if someone left your cake out in the rain.

Oh no......

I don't believe that. The AOG believes that.

Can you point me to where it says that in the AOG 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God?

This "Statement of Fundamental Truths" contains the 16 doctrines of the Assemblies of God. These are non-negotiable tenets of faith that all Assemblies of God churches adhere to. Four of these, Salvation, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, Divine Healing, and the Second Coming of Christ are considered Cardinal Doctrines which are essential to the church's core mission of reaching the world for Christ.

"1,000 miles from Nepal to Yunnan Province in China."

That doesn't mean he actually went to Nepal like our other authority. He is probably a Nepalese wannabe; some one who just pays others to soothe his angst for not fulfilling his true purpose in life, and you know what that is...

Assemblies of God are Pentecostal in doctrine, stressing speaking in tongues, divine healing, women pastors, slain in the Spirit, and their theology is Arminian, meaning they believe salvation can be lost. They are very ecumenical in their associations and cooperation, and encourage the use of the newer Bible versions. Unlike, their Holiness forefathers, they do not hold to the strict guidelines on dress, women's hair, make-up, etc. as do other Holiness Churches. Church services are very informal, avoiding the dry, formal, ritualistic liturgy of many mainline denominational churches. Music is more of a contemporary nature, and absent is the dry, old fashion singing of hymns nowadays. People feel free to dance during the service and go to the altar when desired, and praise God in a heavenly prayer language of 'tongues'. Services tend to be very emotional. Emphasis is put upon Music in Assemblies of God, as well as the preaching.

What is the Assemblies of God position on the security of the believer's salvation?
The Assemblies of God has taken a strong stand against the teaching that God’s sovereign will completely overrides man’s free will to accept and serve Him. In view of this we believe it is possible for a person once saved to turn from God and be lost again.

Richard Harris, who sang MacArthur Park was from the British Isles.

Richard Harris was great in "Unforgiven."

And Richard Harris always reminds me of Robert Shaw (JAWS), a stupendously talented writer/actor who died way too young and who wrote the book and screenplay for one of the greatest movies ever made, "The Man in the Glass Booth."

On DVD. I recommend it highly.

Now where else can we take this thread? 8~)

Those who will not read and heed MacArthur's own disclaimer should themselves have all their explanations disbelieved.

"Synchronicity"

Hold it right there. There's no call for getting personal just because P-M's a lawyer. Even lawyers have feelings. Unless your attitude changes there's no trip to Nepal for you.
