Another film I won't be seeing.

Mormonism isn't Christian.

Don't be impressed with me.

It's simply the truth. Today people despise the truth.

The Isaiah passages say more than that there is no other beside the One God. .

I think they get around the prophets like Isaiah for example, by contending that he came back to earth and prophesied some more, and is probably still here right now, in a Mormon form of course.

How much was Paul's salary?

Paul opted not to take a salary at points in his ministry, ... but he did take offerings which were used in support of his ministry.

Paul explained that he prefered to do it this way ... because he didn't want anyone to think that he was in it just for the money.

Paul was already suffering a crisis of credibility, due to his former opposition to the church, ... and didn't want to give any other reasons for people to doubt his ministry.

Yet Paul clearly laid out the principal of compensation for pastors ... he simply opted not to take any 'salary' himself.
1 Corinthians 9:10b Just as farm workers who plow fields and thresh the grain expect a share of the harvest,

11 We have planted good spiritual seed among you. Is it too much to ask, in return, for mere food and clothing?

12 If you support others who preach to you, shouldn't we have an even greater right to be supported? Yet we have never used this right.
We would rather put up with anything than put an obstacle in the way of the Good News about Christ.

13 Don't you know that those who work in the Temple get their meals from the food brought to the Temple as offerings? And those who serve at the altar get a share of the sacrificial offerings.

14 In the same way, the Lord gave orders that those who preach the Good News should be supported by those who benefit from it.

15 Yet I have never used any of these rights.
And I am not writing this to suggest that I would like to start now. In fact, I would rather die than lose my distinction of preaching without charge.
BYW ... Paul also taught that it was good for ministers not to marry.

Certainly he was not married as he pursued his ministry.

Do any of the LDS clergy follow Paul's example in this ?

Quester you do grasp at straws

BTW your version of Paul reason to you are not scripture only the way your use of scripture!

personally I don't think all clergy is suspect for many do labor in sincerity according to their hearts..

Non LDS Source
Question: "Was the Apostle Paul married?"

Answer: The Bible never says whether Paul was married or not. Some think that he was at one time based on what he said in 1 Corinthians 9:5, "Don't we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord's brothers and Cephas?" If Paul was married at one time, his wife likely passed away considering he never mentions her in any of his writings. Paul declared that he had the gift of celibacy in 1 Corinthians 7:1-7.

Some believe that the Apostle Paul was married because history tells us that a member of the Sanhedrin was required to be married. However, Paul never stated that he was a member of the Sanhedrin. He definitely seemed to be on the path, "I was advancing in Judaism beyond many Jews of my own age and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers" (Galatians 1:14). However, Paul might not have advanced that far before He converted to Christ. So, was the Apostle Paul married? It is possible that he was at one time, but again, the Bible does not specifically say.

As a history buff, I'm aware of this terrible incident. Still, color me skeptical why Hollyweird would choose this relatively obscure incident to dramatize, when they do almost nothing from the Western genre anymore? Could it be Mormon bashing? Or just general Christian fundamentalist bashing (Hollyweirdos don't know the difference between Mormons and Christian fundamentalists)?

Forget all this....I'm waiting for a Mulsim "bashing" movie.

I'm guessing I will be room temp. before that happens.....

Colorado Tanker,

what will this movie do? It will make even more people curious to know the truth about the Mormon religion.

The result: The Mormon church will grow even faster than it is now.

It is my opinion, the Joseph Smith will in the end be recognized by all as one of the most influential men of all human history.

Ive got the script for an awesome Muslim Movie:

A young man as visited by an angel.

He was given visions.

He was told that no true religion existed on the earth at that time.

He was then instructed to restore the long lost faith of the one true religion.

Then he produced a book inspired by God, that they consider to be scripture given in addition to the Bible.

He was uneducated. This supports the belief that producing such a book was beyond his ability and that it must therefore be truly inspired.

He taught that the texts of the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament had suffered loss, alteration, and corruption.

He taught that his inspired holy book was the most correct and perfect book on earth.

He taught that the original copy of their holy book was not in their possession.

He and his followers were forced to endure forced expulsions....driven from their homes.

Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus are major figures in his teachings. He accepts that the one true religion of God was practiced and taught by him during his life-time.

His followers believe that the body is sacred and that people should dress modestly.....

This is the riveting story of the Prophet Mohammed Joseph Smith Mohammed Joseph Smith Mohammed Joseph Smith

Whatever....same story!

When folks get around to checking it out for themselves they realized how the truth was distroted to malign the LDS!

There are very good moral muslims, just as there are very moral, upright, family oriented, Mormons. That doesn't erase their common beginnings.

There are far more Muslims than Mormons, and it is growing at a faster rate. Does that mean their ideas win?

1 Corinthians 7:7 For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.

8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.

Sounds to me Paul was a widower

1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
