1 And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And being with child, she cried travailing in birth, and was in pain to be delivered. 3 And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads, and ten horns: and on his head seven diadems: 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be delivered; that, when she should be delivered, he might devour her son. 5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with an iron rod: and her son was taken up to God, and to his throne.

6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God, that there they should feed her a thousand two hundred sixty days. 7 And there was a great battle in heaven, Michael and his angels fought with the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels: 8 And they prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And that great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, who seduceth the whole world; and he was cast unto the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying: Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: because the accuser of our brethren is cast forth, who accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, etc.

(Apocalypse 12)

But when did Mary flee into the wilderness? Here it says right after she bore the child. More likely, the woman is the church (the priesthood of all believers) whom the devil pursues. The true Queen of Heaven will be the bride of Christ, not the mother, and then only after the marriage feast.

the woman is the church

Mary is a type of Church (see 5,731), so both readings are mutually consistent. Apocalypse clearly describes the woman as the mother of the son, with Whom she ultimately wins the battle. And of course she is in heaven and has a crown, as a Queen of Heaven would.

when did Mary flee into the wilderness? Here it says right after she bore the child.

Both Apocalypse and the book of Matthew describe flight to Egypt following the birth.

The true Queen of Heaven will be the bride of Christ, not the mother, and then only after the marriage feast.

As you wish; I just read what's written.

Both Apocalypse and the book of Matthew describe flight to Egypt following the birth.

Egypt however is not the wilderness.

In Orthodoxy, you will generally find a "both-and" approach. St. Luke's Gospel and his writing of the Acts were both a specific response to a requested account by Theophilus *and* they were written because God wanted them to be written, and to be written in that way.

Thanks for your comments. Just out of curiosity, is there any teaching you are aware of about Theophilus? Who was this most excellent fellow? :) My Bible says his name means "dear to God", but that he is otherwise unknown.

Mary is described as Queen of Heaven in the Apocalypse

The only queen of heaven is a pagan goddess that the rebellious Jews poured out incense to and drink offerings.

Jeremiah 7:18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

Jeremiah 44:17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.

Jeremiah 44:18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.

Jeremiah 44:19 And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?

Jeremiah 44:25 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.

A saint is one whose life record and miracles prove to be in heaven and whose life is an example for others to emulate.

Are there any saints upon earth or does one have to die first?

The only queen of heaven ...

Apparently not only. See Apocalypse 12 quoted above.

Egypt is not the wildreness. Check the Bible

And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

Die first. First death, then judgement (Hebrews 9:27).

See Apocalypse 12 quoted above.

Revelation 12 does not mention a "queen of heaven".

And by reading the chapter we know it is not talking about Mary.

Die first.

Short list of undead saints.

Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:.

Acts 9:32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.

Acts 9:41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

Acts 26:10 Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them.

A woman in heaven with a crown is not Queen of Heaven? A woman delivering a child Who conquers the dragon is not Mary?

Yes, the word is used differently in the scripture. This is why I was careful to speak of canonized saints.

According to God, the queen of heaven is a pagan goddess.

Yes, the word is used differently in the scripture.

So God says that the living who are born again are saints and you reject that?
