You: "Who told me the record of Peters words were scripture? Why Peter himself did! 'For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty...'"

Me: That doesn't sound like a claim to divine inspiration, merely a claim to be an eyewitness. Even if it were a claim to divine inspiration, a claim does not prove a claim. Furthermore, how do you know 2Peter was written by Peter? A mere claim to authorship does not prove authorship. You must have some other authority you're going by. What is it?

Me: "Okay then, according to your interpretation, any tradition which came after that, you don't need! Right?"

You: "Incase your going there, Paul makes reference to the Gospels as calls them Scripture. So I think I have proven my point."

Me: Actually, I wasn't going there. I was merely pointing out that if you interpret a letter to mean, "Scripture is all you need to believe," then we don't need that letter or any writing which comes after it. Now are you going to answer my questions, or are you going to keep dodging?

The only requirement for a vessel from which Y'shua was to be born is any virgin, who had no brothers, of the house of David. This is clearly stated in the Holy Word of G-d in Numbers 26, 27, 36, Joshua 17 and 1 Chronicles 7. Referring to the daughters of Zelophehad.

I fail to see how this is in any way relevant.

This exception to the rule of inheritance is how Y'shua
inherits the throne of King David without the line of Joseph
or with the line of Joseph.

That explains the great pains Matthew takes in counting his lineage through Joseph - because some obscure Jewish law made them irrelevant. [/sarcasm]

And quit the faux Hebraisms. They're distracting, and irritating. He is never referred to as Yeshua, except by backslidden Jewish heretics. His name in the New Testament is Iesus.

What a wonderful christian witness.

His name is only Jesus in an English copy of a Greek copy of the scriptures
by an apostle.

Jesus is not an Englishman nor an American hence His name is not Jesus.

Y'shua is a Jew from the tribe of Judah
and His name was and is and will be always Y'shua,
which means YHvH is my Salvation ( Psalm 118-14)

Remember Salvation is from Tzion.

OBTW if you wish to understand Y'shua's claim to the throne of King David

see The Genealogies of Jesus

Jesus is the Anglicization; IesuV is the Greek. Considering the NT was entirely composed in Greek, there is no evidence of anyone except the heterodox Ebionites doing so, until the faux Jewish-Christian groups of the Messianic movement.

What name do you think Miriam called her son?

What language do you think the creator of the universe spoke to His human mother?

What name do you think was spoken to Miriam by Gabriel for her son's name?

Do you know why the scriptures were written in Koine Greek?

I like Jude 21 through 25 and not take it out of context.

Jude 21 Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of
our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Jude 22 Be merciful to those who doubt;

Jude 23 snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show
mercy, mixed with fear — hating even the clothing stained by
corrupted flesh.

Jude 24 To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present
you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy —

Jude 25 to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and
authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now
and for evermore! Amen.

RC Sproul is a great professor of reform theology. He describes the RCC's positions and is fair in his representations. However he still is clear that the RCC is in error regarding scripture. He is Masters level teaching and can be down loaded and listened to off his web site.

His past radio shows are archived here.

The one about invincibly ignorant is not available now, but I could send you the MP3 of it. Its called the Church and Salvation parts one and two.

He goes through a lot of Church history.
He points out the massive back peddling that is required every time the RCC opens its mouth. Very educational.

I used to listen to him on the radio all the time. I'm aware of most of his postions. I'm of the Jewish persuasion
religiously now.
