I'm a somewhat fierce believer in
"FREELY I have received, FREELY I should give."
Balanced on occasion in some cases by
"A workman is worthy his hire."
In terms of the prophetic, I believe the gifting should be exceedingly distanced from income issues and that the prophetic person should trust God for his provision without any connection whatsoever to such provision on the part of those receiving from God through such gifting.
I know one such person who feels strongly that he should bring tangible gifts [tends to be food] to those he ministers to AND that he MUST TOTALLY REFUSE ANY AND ALL monetary gifts from said ministered-to-persons. I think that's quite right.
In terms of exercising the gift of faith we all have toward enlarging it--I'd suggest a step-by-step growth process that tends to be God's way in such matters. Prayerful pondering and listening followed by expectancy to see God move and answer has tended to work best for me. Am still in kindergarten on such matters, myself.
just not used to hearing prophetic utterances without a pitch for money afterwards.
I can understand that. It's offensive to me, too.
I believe God has finally BEGUN to clean that area of the prophetic up. We shall see.
