And don't forget Jethro, the Midianite priest. He influenced Moses, who influenced Joshua, who influenced David and may have influenced our Lord since he organized the 12 disciples and sent them out to form small groups, and then the seventy and then the 150 when He left and they formed small groups for the 3,000 and look at us now! Rick Warren is small potatoes compared to this pagan priest. As an aside, I thought the Moderator stopped this nonsense.

As an aside, I thought the Moderator stopped this nonsense.

This nonsense seems to be endless and recurring.

I just spent 2-1/2 hours with the church orchestra, practicing for tomorrow's service, and I'm now in too good a mood to engage the Warren bashers tonight.

Good night, everyone!

More Warren bashing.

There are those in this country who apparently think that if Christianity will simply cure the Warren disease, that they will usher in the Millennium.

Good thing Warren got born....:>)

No,I'm not turning a blind eye.
It,s a good thing that more people are back in Church. They need to Stop using Rick Warrens Methods of Christianity and worship .
There are just to many reasons not to trust his methods.

Then don't use them.

Use your own methods.

And mind your own business.

Just curious. Which instrument do you play? The psaltery, the loud cymbals or the high sounding cymbals? Or do you play the timbrel? Certainly you DON'T dance.

P-Marlowe only knows Jethro as the son on the "Beverly Hillbillies".

I,m not going to mind my own business.
Carl Jung and Peter Drucker Methods are not Christian.
Look back to post#6..Read the Scripture that goes with it.

Here's an idea. Go fix your own church and leave Warren's to God. After all, God is in control, isn't he? Or is Warren's ability to influence the Church greater than God's?.

BTW what Church do you go to?

Wrong.

BTW when you discuss someone it is common courtesy to ping them.

Pleae accept my public apology for not pinging you. My oversight. As to Jethro Tull, one of my local pastor friends still listens to that stuff. Good comeback, by the way.

I learned to play the flute listening to Jethro Tull albums. :-)

Now, who's this other Jethro Guy?

I play the eeeeevil French Horn. We don't dance (hard to do while playing a wind instrument) but we have been known to tap our feet with scandalous enthusiasm. :-)

Sam Jethro was one of the first Black baseball players in the Major Leagues. I saw him play for the old Boston Braves a long time ago. Now enough of history, what's with the flute business? You have guitar all over the view page.

I am a jack of all instuments and a master of none. Right now my passion is guitar, but I keep a few harmonicas in my car for when traffic comes to a halt.

I played the French horn. That's cool. But I always hated the oom-pah parts that were invariably written by people who had no respect for the true haunting meolodic quality of the instrument.

Also I learned that third chair is much better than second chair. Second horn parts invariably suck beyond belief.

BTW can you actually play a chromatic scale with that thing? Or do you just fake it like I did?

I agree, there's nothing as irritating as oom-pahs, unless it's the syncopated jazzy stuff that mirrors the alto saxophone part.

Our music for tonight is beautiful; Dave did a great job with the arrangements. We have quite a few exposed, moving lines (hope I don't crack!) Now if I could just get that microphone away from my bell without the sound guys catching me...

:-)
