Looks like Satan is sizing up a whole bunch of people for marshmallow underpants. Basically, the book was so non-Christian, that to criticize the Congregation's rejection of the theologian is to indirectly assert that the Congregation should not reject any theologians.

Yeah, looks like a community of theologians is trying as it has been since about 1967 to set itself up as an alternate Magisterium.

Hopefully the next Pope will throw down and tell these evil people that the party's over. Excommunications, anathemas...we need a bad ass Pope who will take no prisoners.
I'm all for that.

"Hopefully the next Pope will throw down and tell these evil people that the party's over. Excommunications, anathemas...we need a bad ass Pope who will take no prisoners." In His time and in His way. In the meantime, may God give each of you the continued wisdom and fortitude to defend His Church from evil internal and external.

I know. Though there are certain instances when I wish it would hurry up a bit!

Theology is about creative exploration of revelation and the doctrine of the church.Haight's "theology" is a denial of the reality of Jesus Christ.
American theologians? They are, for the most part, useless, especially the members of the Catholic Theology Society of America.

"The Pope orders, the cardinals do not obey, and the people do as they please" - Benedict XIV
The leader will need some followers.

I will certainly second the motion to disband the Jesuits. Unnoted in the article is the fact that Roberto Goizueta is not only president of the "Catholic" Theological Society of America but is also the son and namesake of the late Roberto Goizueta who was the longtime Chairman of Coca Cola. That means that young Roberto is loaded financially and apparently he is belatedly committing himself to Modernism. Not very good news. That he teaches at Boston College is another example of sending coals to Newcastle or oranges to Florida.
When young Roberto attended Yale as an undergraduate, he was quite Catholic and actually was removed from Yale Commons dining hall for reading the Bible aloud during lunch one day.
