A young man coming from the country to a situation, or to college in town, feels very lonely. He walks the street, and has no one, of all the crowds, to speak to him, and he is miserable. That is the time when his heart is softest; then, if any one speaks to him or shows him acts of kindness, he never forgets it.

I'll take Jesus' Word as the Gospel in John 6:
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

I agree.
Now we need to get out and spread that around! (And this piece is about "HOW" to go about doing that.)

Thank you so much for this beautiful sermon!
To: Alamo-Girl
Blessings upon you, A-G.
To do the Lord's Work means "pruning," doesn't it? :>)

Thank you so much for the blessing! May God always bless you, too!

Indeed, pruning is always involved in the Lord's work.
To: Alamo-Girl
Is that expression "doing the Lord's Work" still a common expression, or is it dated?

Times have changed from his day, as now billions are being reached worldwide with the Gospel through sat'l dishes--millions through Benny Hinn or Reinhart Bonnke crusades.

LOLOLOL! I wouldn't know. I still say "Jeepers" and "ice box".
To: Alamo-Girl
"Jeepers" pegs you as part of the Wallie, Beaver, and Eddie crowd, doesn't it? :>)
"Jeepers, Wally, shouldn't we stop by the ice box before we go out to do the Lord's Work?....unless that crummy Eddie Haskell tries to stop us!"

LOLOLOL! I will be turning 58 in a week and a day. But I was also the baby of the family. My dad was in the last cavalry unit at Ft Sam Houston, my oldest brother was in WWII, Korea and did 3 tours in Nam.
To: Alamo-Girl
58....yep...you were ground zero with the "Leave it to Beaver" group.
Bet you were a teenage Elvis lover, too?

Actually, neither Beaver nor Elvis made my favorites list. My favorites were the Righteous Brothers, Country Western music, Roy Rogers and Gunsmoke.
To: Alamo-Girl
Gunsmoke was well worth it and also on my list. Roy was good but I never really got the part about Pat driving around in a jeep....how was that "cowboy?"
I was a great fan of "Sky King."
And Annette Funicello owned my 10 year old heart.

Wow! Talk about a walk down memory lane! Annette Funicello was a beauty in every way.
I don't know if it was Roy Roger's cowboy-ishness or that he looked so much like my dad (who was also from Oklahoma) - or perhaps his personality.
To: Ff--150
Benny Hinn is a false prophet.
Proof.

Times have changed from his dayIsn't that the truth?!! Now a minister can sit at his computer in his study and reach out to so many and never have to look them in the eye or be troubled with having to visit them at their home.
