As I recall the statistical analysis of Genesis related to codes research, there are sections that are somewhat statistically different but the whole of Genesis is very different from all the rest of Scripture in terms of letter statistics.
Spare yourself the obfuscations of modern day fortune-tellers.
Thanks for the website links. It's been some time since I've look over the information and statistics and examples. But I do recall being amazed not so much by the occurance of letter spaced words, but by their relevence to each other (i.e. that you will find them intersecting each other in the scroll format) as well as their relevence to the passages from which they are found.
Still, I have strong reservations about trying to hold it out as proof of divine origin. I think that one has to have faith in it before one can accept that it has very significant meaning, and that if one doesn't have faith it won't have much meaning at all.
The criteria for authentic codes have evolved fairly rapidly. And, they are exceedingly consistent with the surface text on all doctrinal issues.
*grins* exactly what I was thinking!
I wasn't aware of that. Is that study on one of your links?
I've heard that was going to be done. Havn't heard the music yet. Sounds wonderful.
Not sure what you're saying.
However, I'm convinced that there are authentic codes breathed by Holy Spirit.
Jesus is the LIVING WORD. And His printed text is far more living than most of us seem to have much clue of. The Codes are a fascinating, interesting but not generally crucial part of that Majesty.
imho.
But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. Isaiah 28:13
re: musical notes of Hebrew bible.
Sounds cool. If you find this online will you please ping me (if you remember)?
And my opinion is that
your opinion about the Bible Codes is worthless
because you have obviously not researched the latest state of the science and art at all or certainly not fair mindedly and thoroughly at all.
imho, Drosnin is a quack. A lot of his so called codes do not meet current criteria.
But the BibleCodeDigest.com site has many high quality docs and links to many more at other professional mathematicians and Hebrew scholars' sites.
Wrong.
And, evidently you have consistently failed to investigate very thoroughly or fairmindedly either at all.
Elijah proved God rather conclusively with the prophets of baal.
But I don't recall all those on the other side immediately converting.
Stubborn rebellion is it's own arrogant god.
Actually, it turns out after extensive careful study, that the issue of the different versions is a gross straw dog.
I don't recall the details of the study. I think it's refd and linked at the BCD site.
I think essentially, the best most respected version is quite sufficient as demonstrated by The Codes. And the best scholars have some considerable consensus on what the best version is.
Anyway--I think your assumptions are showing and quite inaccurately so.
ABSOLUTELY.
AND THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS CONFIRMED THE ACCURATE TRANSMISSION OF THE DOCUMENTS INCREDIBLY VIVIDLY.
God is both, as you know.
Crystal clear about many things
and ambiguous about many things.
It's not TV Guide or Shakespeare, but someone has already done a "Bible Code" with Moby Dick.
I believe that the Lord has encoded some strange and sublime messages in many things, but when it comes to His Word my opinion is that it is simply a matter of Him saying exactly what He means.
Could I be wrong? Sure. Would it change or shake my faith in the Lord? Not one iota.
"Jesus is the LIVING WORD."
Amen to that, but bible codes are based on the old testament - a book of myths and fairy tales.
There's absolutely NO demonic, occultic etc. or anything close to such fortune telling
involved in the authentic Bible Codes--AT ALL. imho You should check out your facts better before pontificating.
