Or maybe he plans to defect when the dragnet gets too close.

My concern is that it's too 'easy' for a child to yell 'sexual abuse' just to get back at someone.

Way too easy. Remember the McMartin case, among many other false-allegation cases in the 80s?

Also, it has a bit of a chicken-or-the-egg effect. As these cases become sensationalized, you'll see a spike in the number of lawsuits and allegations. Some will be legit, some exaggerated, some just plays for cash.

It's kinda like the hysteria over pit bull. Some of it is actually feuled by the media, which causes the homeboys to want one even more.

nonononono.....you've got it all wrong. See if he comes back here, he will probably never serve a day of jail time for his obvious connivance. And by connivance I mean just that......his zipper has been knwon to have been opened a few times.

Let him stay in Africa. You see, Africans are ever so more intelligent then us dumb Anglos. If he did to thier children what he has done to ours, they would simply kill him.

That's all.

Justice.

It was shameful of you to make that repugnant and libelous comment in this public forum. You should publicly retract it and apologize for it. And the forum administrator should delete it.

Sorry, but Hubbard has been accused too many times to count of personal sexual indicretions - with teenaged boys, and with seminarians. Publicly so. In The Albany TImes Union. By some of his own priests. One known to me personally.

Sorry, but the preponderance of circumstantial evidence is on my side. I knew the dead preist who was one of those who informed on Hubbard, to Cardinal O' Connor of NY (the Metroplitan), and to the Pope. I refer to the late Fr. Minkler.

We are speaking of a "Bishop" who has certainly broken his vow of celibacy, and has protected clerics under his watch who have done likewise, and protected clerical sex offenders who abused minors. We are speaking of a man who has shown himself to be protective of sexual deviants in his employ, and who is personally accused of the same behaviour.

Hubbard is the one who needs to apoligize. To God, the Holy Father, and his Diocese.

No, there seems to be some confusion here. Your comment was in response to Deo Volente, and he/she specifically spoke about Cardinal Mahony, not Bishop Hubbard. So your comment reads as if you are speaking about Cardinal Mahony. If you made a mistake and were referring to Bishop Hubbard, you should say so.

Being distraced by a phone call, I accidentally posted that on the wrong thread. What I said applied to Hubbard in particular. But Mahoney is of the same cloth, and belongs to the same clubs.

There are many similar accusations against Mahoney - from many different sources. Also very serious charges of schism and material heresy. To say he is no good, is an understatement. To say he should resign goes without saying.
