The Committee for Children is, according to NewsMax, the reincarnation of the prostitution advocates, and its founder was a founder of WHO (Whores, Housewives and Others, "others" referring to Lesbians back before Lesbians dared speak "the name of their love.")

NewsMax isn't exactly the Washington Post, and they'll republish some authors of questionnable judgment, but they're not ones to make up lies.

I completely agree and I have done that same research.. the origin of the group is "COYOTE" - call off your old tired ethics - tied in with SIECUS and all the ugliness that would entail. But O'Malley isn't responsible for "Committee for Children" and/or Kathleen McChesney - the USCCB as a whole let those guys in the door by creating the Charter which called for those things.

Thank you for your nuanced defense of Ab. O'Malley. He may be personally orthodox, yet your defense has not convinced me that he is the Shepherd many have longed for. It is early, he may come around.

"He ought to do this, and I think he doesn't want to cause the Archdiocese to explode and hundreds of thousands of souls to damn themselves; he may figure that he'll keep more if he waits until after the election."

Sorry, I can't follow that logic?

Maybe, just maybe, they thought the bishops would hire actual Catholics, not homosexual-pervert-porno freaks.

Silly them.

I can sort of. All this excommunication stuff is popping up in an election year. Those watching what's going on in Rome understand its a coincidence, but the appearance of the Church engaging in electoral politics is certainly a negative. Part of proclaiming truth is proclaiming it in a way as to present it as credible; impairing the credibility of the gospel message by allowing it to look like partisan politics is also harmful.

I'm not saying I agree with O'Malley, and I have a hard time reading his actions in the most charitable light given the atrocities he permits in Boston, but I can see where other bishops who take his position are coming from.

Unfortunately, that line of reasoning has long been used as an excuse avoid speaking the hard truth. How often have we heard that more can't be done to correct heresy because a so-called schism may occur? To me, it is the same argument. I believe the opposite is true, by not speaking the truth in season and out of season, many souls have and will continue to perish.

I am hard on O'Malley. Perhaps too hard, but he seems to give conflicting signals. That technique is not what the Church needs today.
